    Replace Injector seals?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi guys, i just built a boost leak detector and used it on my car. I used soapy water and sprayed it near the injectors and i saw bubbles coming out. Now my question is, are the orange things seals? And can i replace them only instead of getting new injectors?
The ones effected were 1,3 and 4. The 2nd one didn't leak at all.
Also how do i get my car out of limp mode? Its only hitting 5 psi. My jet suction pump was leaking but i sealed that and its all good to go.

Thank you very much. I will order the o rings, and i assume the injector seats just pull right out? I want to eliminate that from the equation and buy 4 of those too.

Injector seats are threaded in. They should be OK. If you decide to remove them I would recommend taking the intake manifold off first. It's pretty common for then to break apart when removing.

I would definitely recommend removing the IM before you try to remove the seats and for sure find a 20mm Hex bit.

Thank you. I will leave the seats alone. If i replace the o rings and they are still leaking, i will take the intake mani off.
Thanks again for the help guys.

Replace them all, even the one that does not seem to be leaking at this time. To get it out of limp mode; clear the code(s).

I had the exact same problem as Charles... it was a nightmare. At that point, removing the manifold is mandatory. After the removal I soaked the injector seats in PB Blaster which really helped. Still had a hellofa time getting them out.

Even with a decent amount of Teflon tape two of my seats (not seals) are leaking again. If I'm pulling the IM again, this time it'll be to replace the plastics with billet seats and sealing them in with some kind of temp appropriate gasket sealant or something.
