B6 vs B7 batteries ---same size --different output. Interchangibility?

My car (B7) was undriven for a couple of weeks and the battery died. I recharged but it just doesnt seem to be its former self. Its the Orig battery ---'08 model year. I assume the battery was made in 2007---so 6 years old. 84K miles. I figure this is about the lifespan of an OG battery right?
My B6 (out of commision with faulty Tstat and Valve colver gasket work thats needed) has the same battery dimensions--but a different cold cranking amps output. Will this battery work without hitch in my B7?

Will it work in the LONG run--or will it die out prematurely? When I look up B6 batteries on an auto website like autozone--it says they wont work in a B7.
    Thanks in adavnce

Is the cold cranking amps more or less?
In the end all u need is 12volt battery and bigger amperage capability is better than less.
If not worried about winter performance the CCA doesn't matter that much.

I just looked up a B6 (2003 A4 3.0 quattro) and a B7 (2007 A4 2.0T quattro) on Autozone's website. Both came back with a group "94R" battery. The "alternate" size is group 48 which is used on the smaller engines in warmer climates. Indeed a B6 1.8T shows a group 48 battery, but here in ice cold Pennsylvania, I think they all come with the larger V6-capable battery (94R) from the factory.

Anyway, the answer is: you're in sunny California. You'll be just fine.

    ^^ Its an Allen.

Be advised, if your car has the sport package, you need to remove the strut bar OR you need an EXTRA long allen wrench or a super skinny allen driver socket with a wobble. clearance is tight from the strut bar, though it does have a recess cut out of it to allow access...
