    Hi Guys

My car gave a low oil pressure light yesterday whilst driving on a hot day,I pulled over checked the oil level, the oil level looks fine.

Started up drove a few km and again the light came on with the 3 beeps.I suspect its my oil pump not doing its job but can this be a bad sensor or and I looking at the worst case senerio?

I also have a faulty crank speed sensor could this be the culprit to my low oil pressure issue?

The engine is quiet and still going smoothly I havent driven the car more than 3km since I got the 1st warning light.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Crank speed wouldn't do it. Oil pump is doing it's job (it's mechanical) you probably just have some sludge in there.

    1. You could try to put some seafoam in the crank case and drive it around for a little bit, do an oil change, see what happens.

    2. You could drain oil, fill it with diesel gas (I'm not kidding), drain the diesel, fill with normal oil, drive for awhile, do another oil change.

Check oil pressure (with a gauge) before and after to measure your improvement. You don't want to be driving the car hard when it's "barely keeping the light off" all the time. Just because the light stops flashing doesn't mean everything is perfect.

Nice work. Glad you dropped the pan. I'm sure you will agree from your experience that any kind of oil additive wasn't going to hardly touch the crap that was clogging the screen. Sure it may help keep the light off for a little while, but the only way to make it right is to drop the pan and clean that junk out of there.

    Thanks for the update.
