What size cone filter to use with stock maf?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking to order a cone filter to hook right up to my stock Bosch maf. I measured the O.D. of the maf and got about 3 3/8" or about 85.5mm but I can't find a filter with that size flange so far. I am considering getting 3 1/4" and just jamming it on there but thought I'd see what others may have done first. Any thoughts?

I would stick with the stock air box unless your running a BAT or something. You will not have HP gains or anything.

I'm aware of that. I did the same mod on my b6 and really enjoyed the increased sound. Since my car almost never sees rain im not worried about loosing the protection of the airbox from water. Thanks for the heads up.

What size cone filter to use with stock maf?

If you have a stock maf you don't need a filter.

Adding a filter will throw off your maf readings. Adding a cone filter increases the maf's efficiency.

An 89MM MAF is 3.5 inches. You are going to need a 3.5" coupler to attach your MAF to the intake.

3.5x9 AEM Dryflow like Das mentioned. heavy duty rubber plumbing reducer and hose clamps from Lowes, Darintake bottom half of airbox remains and helps support the filter. bonus is that the grill "ram intake" snorkel still remains and clips in.
