To those that store meth in the washer fluid resevior

Are any of you still running washer fluid in a separate tank somewhere else in the car? I'm thinking about a trunk mounted unit.

For the reason why, washer fluid is a great way to get the tailgaters off and is also a nice way to clean the windows of a left lane camper.

I spray water-meth on my windshield when I really need to. Yeah, I'm so rich I use VPM1 as washer fluid.

Yeah just do this as long as your around 50/50 mix. I wouldn't recommend spraying 100% meth on your windshield lol.

    FYI - these are approximations:

    +20 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 7% methanol.
    0 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 23% methanol.
    -10 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 28% methanol.
    -20 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 35% methanol.
    -25 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 38% methanol.
    -50 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 62% methanol.

Dont do it, very annoying having the feeling that washer fluid is $10 a gallon especially on snowy days.

Run it in the trunk and put a bigger tank back there with the pump along with the battery. Moves 40-50 pounds to the back of the car.

Why not just use washer fluid as the water/meth spray?

What % washer fluid to methyl are you guys running? Would running the 65/35 mix be a bad idea?

I don't see any problem with that. I use my 50/50 on windshield. No big deal in my parts of country (NE).

You can run anything you want but the best mix is still 50/50 for most application as you get both benefits, more octanes and water cooling.

So you can run -50* F washer fluid (straight up) instead of a 50/50 methanol/water mix?

Sounds retarded but i beleive this is the case, although it can gum up in your pump from what i recall reading on a subaru forum.

Personally, I prefer to control what gets injected into my engine as much as possible.

Any federal regulations concerning washer fluid contents?

Ever see washer fluid build up and crystallize?

I also have a hard time believing they sell flammable washer fluid (62/35).

    M1 is not that expensive.

    And what are those?

I am a noob to the meth scene, is there a thread detailing the theory/application?

Wow, never seen that. I know there's regulation as far as Methanol content for EPA and safety and whatnot, but I don't think for any additional additives.

Those are the W/M sprayers that you insert into your incoming air path. As to WHERE in that path you insert it is a matter of great contention/preference.

The theory is that the W/M mix in its atomized state flash evaporates, and with it both cooling the incoming air and essentially raising the octane level. This raises the point before detonation is reached, allowing more advanced or aggressive timing. The application can be anything from N/A gasser to compound turbo diesel.

I use the washer tank. I just have my headlight washers blocked off, that wastes too much.

I run the general blue -20 washer fluid in my meth/washer fluid reservoir. Sometimes I'll cut it with some heat.

-50*F washer fluid usually has glycol in it, which is very, very bad in your engine. Other washer fluids may have detergents or additives. You need to find washer fluid that is just methanol, water, and dye. None of which are harmful to your engine.

If using your window washer tank, I recommend a new tank personally... I replaced mine after I took my nozzles out during a bi-pipe swap and noticed exactly what was pictured above.

I made a thread a while back about it... http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...5-years-of-use

Now with my new tank and having only VP M1 being the only liquid ever used in there, it's clean as a whistle.

I know a guy running a cobalt who cracked a ringland because of this. 28psi on a bigger turbo, tune relying on meth. End result, not good.

Yup, what happens is that right after you stop injecting the mix, any fluid above injector outlet level will drip down into bi-pipe. Then with repeating vacuum/low boost in bippies, it gets dry in no time. Check valve doesn't prevent this phenomenon form occurring. I re-routed my lines to have almost no plumbing above nozzles level but there still is usually 3" or so of air in line just before the nozzle shortly after spraying ends.

That's why you should only have distilled water and methanol alcohol in the mix. These ingredients evaporate 100% without and residuals left... in theory anyway. Clean the nozzles/filters at least once a year.
