Exclamation Always says trunk is open?

Hello, today I swapped my sticky trunk latch for a new one and the install went fairly smooth but now, my color display always shows my trunk as open? I have tried opening and closing it a few times and it is still 24/7 shown as open. There is an electrical connector onto the latch (sensor that detects close?) but I know it is fully connected because my trunk open fine from my keys and the drivers door thing. I have already PM'd the guy who made the DIY, but has anyone on here had this problem before or have any suggestions on how to fix it?

Anyone have any idea's? According to ELSA, the "Trunk Lock/Alarm/Central Locking Switch" is built right into my new latch but I am sure I plugged it in because it is getting power:

Yeah that is weird because the sensor is built into the latch. Maybe you got a fault latch? When I had body work done and they took mine off and put it back on it had the same issue. They ordered a new latch and problem was gone.

I actually disasembled the whole thing today again, reconnected everything, jiggled some wires around, put it back together, and the error is gone

Makes no sense but I fixed it so.

    Always says trunk is open?

I had this issue too when I did my backup camera and the answer was the latch just needs to be cycled with a screwdriver while the trunk was open. Ie use the screwdriver to close the latch then open it with the keys and viola it was fixed.

Hah really? That would be funny if that's all it was... Makes sense in a way though.
