Jack Daniels Audi is filled with crooks.

Hey guys. My GF just took her 2012 Q5 to JD in Fair Lawn because the engine was making a terrible clicking noise. Sounded like valves.

Here's what the guy at the dealer told her.

• Car's oil level is low, but the on board computer cant read it and the dipstick isn't accurate
• car needs to be topped off but we dont know how much oil it needs (remember they supposedly checked and noticed it was low)
• It will cost $150 to top off oil (even though dipstick and computer read full) because they know not how much it will take
• the 5000 mile oil in the engine is dirty and topping off with new oil will ruin engine
• the oil should be changed every 3000 miles not every 10,000 like Audi recommends (he obviously knows more than the engineers and that's why he's a service rep)

They also used to charge me for 6qts for my A4 2.0T's oil change. so an extra $10 per oil change for a whole 2 years. When I noticed this I immediately stopped going to them. When I brought it up they said it was because their machine that pumped oil couldnt pump exactly 4.8 had to be 6.

Jack Daniels is full of sh*t. Please people do not go there and tell your friends!

They are crooks and horrible at what they do! I cannot talk for sales side, but I do know service is the worst. I rather take my Audi to a Honda dealership for service than to Jack Daniels.

I guess you never did Google reviews on that dealership. They suck balls. I won't even pick up parts from there. I go to the VW dealership right up the street and the parts counter guy always gives me hook up and many times just gave me parts for free.

wow, looks like a nice dealership too, just drove my it the other week. Def would never go there and never heard of such robbery from my Audi dealership in Long Island. BMW however treated my parents the same with with their X5.

I often wonder if its dealerships trying to take advantage of women or other individuals who they think do not know any better about vehicles or their maintenance contracts/warranties, etc... Def should report this dealer to AoA immediately with multiple complaints across the board.

Not sure how much of a hike Audi Meadowlands is, but I've been very happy there so far. Haven't had any issues with Audicare there. A 2012 would be covered, correct?

JD is the absolute worse dealer... I live in NY and go out of my way to go to Bell Audi in Edison. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They even try and work with you on pricing whenever possible.

Go to paul miller audi and look for a service writer named Eric and tech named Matt who works under Eric, tell him Phill with a red S5 sent u over there...... He will definitely take care of you.

-1 for Jack Daniels. Took my car in for the 35K service under the Audi Care program. Dropped the car off, told them they had all the time they needed. called me back the next day said it was ready. picked it up, took it home. inspected their work. they did nothing! nothing on the checklist, cabin filter was filthy, not even the oil change. I complained to Audi Corporate and when they called Jack Daniels, they didnt even deny it! instead they said that they werent permitted enough time to finish it because i asked for the car back. lies! i had a loaner. best part, all the parts they supposedly installed were on the bill (which Audi Corporate pays). I asked if they were in the habit of putting parts on a bill even though they didnt have time to install them....

still waiting for the answer on that one.

I feel bad for all the non-autmotive types who are buying Audis and bringing them there for service.

I just had my 35k done on the S5. Anything I've brought the car in for at Meadowlands, it's been done mid-day. Your experience blows my mind. Really sorry to hear that.

Sorry to hear. Just got my S4 from them back in February and was considering giving their service dept. a try. Guess I'll stick with Palisades Audi since it's close to where I live and the service guy I've dealt with the last few times (Dean) is pretty cool.

+1 on JD horrible service department. For all but one of my services or warranty issues I used Palisades Audi which was close to my job and where I bought my B6 S4. JD is close to my house so I took my B6 there once for a coil pack replacement. They lost two of the screws that hold the coil pack wiring harness in place and let a screwdriver and a pair of pliers on top of my engine. If was raining when I picked up the car and didn't open the hood (my mistake). On the drive home I thought I heard a rattle. Popped the hood and there were the tools. I complained and they gave me new screws (gee thanks) but never commented on the tools left behind. Funny enough I never got the survey call which makes me wonder if back then the dealer could change my info so I wouldn't be contacted. With my B8 S4 I've used Meadowlands (also where I bought it) and have had a good experience there. When I'm out of warranty, I'll probably use Drive which is about 3 miles from me now in their new shop.

Dont let them push you or your gf around... no excuse for such a low car to be low in oil...

I was going to create a new thread to ask for a recommendation for a dealer with good service dept. in Northern NJ but I saw this one and will add to it. I will avoid JD for sure. Meadowlands is closest to me and I will go there next. Avoid service dept at Mendham Audi. To be fair their sales team is good. However, their Service dept does not do what you request them to do. I asked them to diagnose 12 o'clock electric steering issue that happens above 60-65mph on my car. They did not even take the car on the highway. Asked them to check if DSR is factory enabled and spelled out driver steering recommendation on the work order and they checked for 'comfort setting'. Service ppl telling me it might be because I don't have stock wheels... Car has optional OEM 19" black optic pkg rotors.

Since I bought the car last month I could say avoid sales dept in Newton NJ and it is a waste of time to drive up there. The guy wanted to sell me windows etching even on a custom order car for about $400. Also get this, he would price match a car that he would need to order and I have to wait 12 weeks which was already available at another dealership.

Meadowlands sales people were good too along with Paul Miller but they did not have the car I wanted. Not too pushy and professional.

Hey guys, I need to bring my car in to check for some noise, I gather I should take the drive to Bell Audi or Paul Miller Audi. If there anyone I can ask for to have more serious level of service?

I know the exact problem, and I know how VW solved it in my previous car. I just cant believe I got the same type of noise/problem with a new car.
