    coilovers?

I'm going to get the st coils eventually. I wouldn't go with just a cheaper coils to save money. ST are reasonably priced and from the reviews I read built very good. Buy quality parts and do it right the first time

Dont buy joms unless your happy with a fuck rough ride! Theres plenty more options avaliable to you, i am from uk so am not entirely sure what you get in america but i think you can get dgr like i just bought and there a good kit! All adjustable for a really good price!

I have owned a set of JOM's and they do ride awful. They go really low but that's all they are good for. You should keep an eye our for something to pop up in the classifieds if your on a tight budget. I picked up some Stasis Street sports for about the cost of some JOM's off of Craigslist, just saying.

The B6 Audi A4 suspension was not designed to "go really low..." Probably why your ride is so awful...

Shocks need a minium of 2 inches of travel to even operate...

Go too low and your riding ontop of the bumpstops.

Plus altering the tow and camber which have a negative effect on tire wear.

did you ever get around to measuring your ride height? How many threads do you have left in the front and rear?

budget would help so we can point you in the right direction.

Cheap - ride handle like shit....but will go 'low'
mid-range - better ride quality, better shock quality...still can go low
Higher end - good handleing, better ride quality,

Lol, I don't think "B6 A4" was designed to do most of the mods that we do. With that mentality I guess we should just leave our cars stock?
Have you ever seen the stance thread? It would appear that me and a couple thousand other people have got there cars really low with minimal problems. If the bump stops are in the way, cut them down. If its out of alignment, align it... Pretty simple stuff.

I can speak from experience being that I own two B6's with gtf measurements under 23.5 static. I'm sure my tires don't last as long as a stock ride height car, but you gotta pay to play.

I still don't understand why people try to cheap-out on suspension...smh

ST's are probably going to be your best budget option. FK's are nice coils as well, but they will run you about a $100 more for the standard and about $150 for the stainless series.

hmm, I will be starting the install on my STs soon and I think I may dial the rears all the way down and take the front spring helper out and leave 3 or 4 threads

edit: I do not mean the second spring on the front coilover but piece of plastic between the two springs. Would that be safe?

ST's, fender to ground is 24.25" on all four corners, ride is a little stiff for the frost heaves and bad roads right now but in the summer i never had any issues with how it rode. this is my second winter on them.

OP is looking to lower his/her vehicle, not spend a fortune, and have something that doesn't completely kill ride quality. Either one of these brands is perfect for what the OP wants. Not everyone that wants to lower their vehicle needs to spend $2200 on a set of race/track coilover suspension.

no, i had it at 23.5" last year with more to go, it was too low for the 18"s i had (just didn't fill the well properly in my opinion). might go a little lower again when i put the 19"s on for the summer but we'll see.
dont recall how many threads were left showing but i've never had them cranked all the way down.

anyone ever try those CXracing coils w/ adjustable dampening and compare them to st's?
im sure they are probably nothing special, but they are the same price range as st's, wonder how they compare.

actually im pretty curious on how the cheaper coils like street edge compare to st's too... not alot of reviews on them but the two found via google are oddly good

I own the JOM coilovers and i say they ride the same as stock, no improvement really. My car is "dumped" and i never had any problems. 15mm spacers in the front and 20mm in the rear. I say get the ST or FK coilovers IMO.

still cant decide where i want to go with the suspension. I wouldnt mind getting into autocross (if i can find a place around here) but people say st's cant handle that...
I'd like to go a little lower than the vogtland cup kit, but can't figure out if the vogtland coils are any better than the st's...
