I'm planning to do lug conversion but I don't know what length of wheel stud I should be getting. I have the oem 19" rim with 5mm spacer @front and 10mm spacer @ rear.

I did this same thing and bought these studs, Wheel Stud - Priced Each ES#229 Stud conversion for M 14x1.5 X 50mm, from ECS to do the conversion. I bought these lugs, Ball Seat 14x1.5 Wheel Nut - Priced Each ES#240, as well. They are almost flush with my Ti package wheels.

thanks for the reply. did you also have spacers on when you did your wheel stud conversion? just seems 50mm is pretty short with the spacers in

What is the benefit of this conversion, aside from easier rotations sans wheel hanger?

easier future installation/removal, can put on cool nuts, and people might over torque the bolts and cause damage to the hub. with studs all u need to do is replace the stud or the nut.
that's what i was told... wtf do i know lol

Yup. I have the same spacer setup as you. The 50 is after the thread if I remember correctly but it definitely ends up being flush with my 19s. I can take a pic with the 18 winters I have on now if that will help but I don't run the spacers in the winter. I ordered too long first and it would have looked ridiculous. Also don't forget some Loctite.

Loctite (brand name) is a thread locking compound. You smear some on the threads of a bolt / stud and it acts like a glue between the threaded hole and the screw / stud. It comes in different strengths, i.e. there is 'removable' Loctite, and 'permanent' Loctite. I would think we want to use the 'removable' stuff, so you could still swap the studs out in case you ever buggered up a thread or something. The Loctite is essentially there to keep the stud from ever vibrating loose, in case its seating torque or press fit gave loose.

Hey Aaron, I just called ECS Tunning. They recommand me to use the 50mm in the front and 60mm in the rear. I asked if I could also use 50mm on the rear, he said I won't able to run it and NOT RECOMMANDED. Now you said you are running 50mm all around and they are almost flush with you ti wheels, almost flush as in the stud a little bit short(intruding) or a littlbe bit long(protruding)
BTW do you need any special tools for the installation?

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you with the pictures yet. I never actually talked to them when I ordered them so I never had that conversation. With that said, you should be comfortable with what you run. I am not sure why they would say that since the end thread into the hub is the same length so its basically how much you want to stick out past the lug. ECS are professionals though so maybe someone had a problem in the past. Do you have a twitter account? I could just tweet you photos later so I don't have to go through uploading to my photobucket.

As far as tools go, you will need a torque wrench for the lugs, an allen wrench socket for the install and some Loctite hold it all in. There are different types, as mentioned above but even the heaviest of duty Loctite can be broken loose with enough torque. We use it all over my racecar but it still comes apart when needed.
