2008 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro with HIGH mileage??

I came across this beautiful 2008 Audi A4 3.2 Quattro "S-Line" (which from my research must be the cosmetic version?) seen here ( http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/cto/3577551098.html ) . Looks to be in mint pristine condition and the car fax shows 1 owner, corporate owned car, put about 25k miles on it on avg/year and routinely took it to the Audi dealer for scheduled maintenance over the last 5 years.

My biggest concern is the 130k mileage. I've had a 2005.5 A4 2.0T and a 2001 1.8T... both start giving me fits around this mileage. Constant check engine lights, weird electrical issues, compartments falling apart, etc. Maybe I've just had bad luck with these cars after 120k, I'm not sure. I've read that the 3.2 engines are much more self-sustainable and are more dependable in general. True?

I am not looking to mod the engine, or anything, and my daily work commute is only a couple of miles so I'm not too worried about those topics.

What are the biggest things you would look for before taking a risk on a high mileage car. Note, their asking price is comfortably lower that even the fair market value, which I can't find anywhere else.

First thing that sticks out to me is the price seems high for the mileage. Market may be different out East though. It's a one owner car so I'm sure he has the service records which is a plus. As long as it was maintained I wouldn't worry too much.

Yeah, the car fax has the full service record history. It was routinely brought in to the original Audi/Porsche dealership for full service and inspection, which included all major checks. At 120k air filter was done, brakes and rotors, etc.

I didn't notice anything about a new clutch. I know on most other cars around this mileage, that would be needed. Also, these vehicles don't have a timing belt, so the belt/water pump service does not apply. Any other major services I might be over looking?

Seems a little sketchy. It's for sale by owner, but the phone # is of a used car dealer. Also, it is not an S-Line.

All 08's have the S-Line appearance package but only some are true S-Line. Those with the above mentioned description are. The one you are looking at doesn't have all that. First sign is the steering wheel.

Coming from a 3.2 owner aswell i say price is a bit high for the mileage but overall that 3.2 is a solid engine...

Thanks guys. I checked with the Audi dealership and they confirmed that it was a part of their S-line which had 18 inch wheels, sport suspension, and "wood" trim interior. Steering wheel came with a premium plus s-line apparently. Went down to take a took and this thing was mint except for a small dent in the hood (which you can see) and can be easily pushed out and a slightly cracked grill. Barely noticeable. Brought him down to $11,000 so I went forward with it :) Will be back on later with my own pictures, but this thing was essentially brand new for a 2008 with 130k miles. I don't think anyone had even sat in the back or passenger seats. All compartments, electric, etc. were mint. Car ran like a dream and clutch/engine ran like a champ. Very excited and thank you for all your help.

The dealership doesn't know what they're talking about regarding the S-line package. That car has the S-line exterior package just like every other '08 out there, but doesn't have the 3-spoke steering wheel, the sport suspension, the 18" wheels, etc. And I'm pretty sure the wood trim is not an S-line deal.

Regardless, it looks like a nice car given how many miles are on it.
