Engine related sound. Almost sounds like the engine beeping?

I pulled up to the drive-thru window at McDonalds last night and it sounded like there was some kind of alarm going off somewhere. Then I realized it was my car making the noise. It was really quite loud, even with the hood/bonnet closed. I drove home and recorded a couple of videos. You can clearly tune into the repetitive "beep" after around 15 seconds in the first video.

In the second video you can hear the "beep" smooth out into a whine as the engine is revved. Unfortunately, in this second video the sound isn't very loud.

To me, it sounds loudest on the left side of the car (the right side in the video) and towards the back of the block. Could it be the high pressure fuel pump maybe? The car is just coming up to 90,000 miles.

    Any other ideas?

It look it's coming from the rear or engine, but i guess that depend where the mic is on the cam.
I would says pulley bearing or around the acc belt or like you say HPFP. The frequency sound like an alarm. What did you changed on engine recently?

    No engines codes.

I've had the car since 32,000 miles and there was some prior maintenance done that involved something cam related. Don't recall exactly what but I'm sure I have record somewhere. Is it an easy thing to check? Flapper motors? Not familiar with that item.

No belts at the rear of the engine. Unless the sound is playing tricks in the engine bay, I'm fairly sure it's not at the front near the acc belt or pulleys?

It did go into the dealer around 8 months back for an engine light. That may have been a sensor, maybe even a cam sensor. They also carried out a couple of outstanding TSBs on the PCV and airbox...?

Sounds like a whistle, almost like a vacuum leak.
I would check all of your hoses and intake system for any hoses misplaced or off.
Do you have a boost gauge? I'm assuming not since you are stock, so you may not even have noticed a drop in performance, especially if it has happened over time.

Though it could also be a bearing or tensioner, it's really hard to tell with your video
