    Anyone use this vacuum?

    Hey all

Thought it was time to get myself a car vacuum cleaner or at least a hand held one that fits into the car to clean it. I was wondering if anyone has this one or used this one? http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-71B-Han...nd-held+vacuum

I just ordered it from Amazon.

That one is horrible! Just joking.... Good luck with it.

Over the years I've found that the more horsepower you can throw at a car interior, the better. I've got a too-big-but-I-love-it Ridgid wet/dry vac. Mine is a few years old now (it replaced a Craftsman one that died after a long and thankless life), but this one is pretty darn close:

I appreciate the desire - and logistical need if you're in an apartment/condo setting - for a small machine, but I've never been pleased with the suction power from any one I've tried.

I agree. A shop vac is the way to go. It's one of those must have multipurpose tools.

Did you pay $100 for it? Do you think the price Home Depot has is a good price for this? I cancelled my order with amazon and will do further research tomorrow and might just go pick it up at Home Depot tomorrow after work.

It seems like these things are frequently on sale. I honestly can't remember what I paid, but I do recall Home Depot was having a sale, and I went with the 6-hp version over a smaller/less powerful one because of the price. I think $100 is reasonable, though, if you'll get use out of it. It's a solid machine, a replacement filter is always in-stock (and is a breeze to replace), and the power is impressive. I'll tell you, the first time you need to use it as a wet-vac, you'll be glad you have it. Good luck...

Get a Metro Vac and Blo. 4 hp, tiny, quiet (relatively), super powerful, doubles as a "heated" blower, etc. It is not for wet vacuuming and is more expensive (find it for $175 or so online or pay a little more and support Phil at DD) but so much better for car cleaning than a shop vac.

$60 Rigid shop vac and bought the car kit for it from Home Depot, about $90 total. But it will suck up anything, including excessive water. However, I also have a steam vac for the house carpets, and I use that about once a year to keep the interior carpets super nice (especially after winter snow and salt).

I just picked up the same one from Home Depot. I picked it over the one that was $99 because I saved $40 for losing 1HP and 2 gallons. I didn't pick up the car kit, don't know if there are any tools in there that I want. I'll have to take a look at them and see if picking up the car kit is worth the price. The slim suction tool is great because it lets you get that hard spot between the seat and the door where-in I could never get that spot with a car wash vacuum. I like it. It's pretty decent at picking up dog hair as well. I have two dogs and their hair gets everywhere, very annoying but with this machine it's pretty good at picking that up. The dog hair attaches through static cling on my shoes and it's hard to get off before I get into my car so I get a little amount of dog hair on the carpet even though I have the all weather mats in the car.

Here is a link. The website says it's $90 bucks but the store its on sale for $60.

    Hey strife1013,
I recently bought a EUREKA AIREXCEL COMPACT canister vacuum for my car.I bought it after checking canister vacuum reviews online.Although i mainly use it for cleaning my house, but it works for cleaning my car as well.Good at cleaning the car interiors and sucks the dust, dirt under the car's carpets powerfully. It comes with HEPA technology that ensures the 99% cleaning of the dirt and allergens in your home or car.

It is extremely light weight physically which makes it possible to clean the home effortlessly. Its light weight design helps in cleaning without sweating and of trouble having to drag it from one place to another. This vacuum works well both on the carpet and hard floor surfaces with its attachments of the carpet and bare floor brush.

Its like a multi purpose tool for me.
    Thanks.
