    275 30 20 Tire Recommendations?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Need recommendations for new tires. Currently running Hankook 255/30's and I want to go 275's.

Prefer all season, and something that grips tarmac and wears well.

Let's hear what you all are running and your impressions.

I run the Pilot A/S plus on my Impreza. Regardless of what some say about all seasons I have push them very hard in heavy rain, on loose pavement, mud and snow. No complaints at all. They do excellent in the snow. Even on my GTI and flat or straight roads are not common in my area. Have also run Nero M/S. Great looking tire and cheap. Have run 3 sets of those.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards the Nero's. I've run the Pilot Cups on my previous cars and liked them, but they seemed to be made for optimal road conditions, which we don't have much of here in New York. Perhaps I'll take a look at the Pilot A/S.. How's the wear?

I prefer the look of the Nero but the Pilot seems to be a better tire. The Pilot has a more aggressive/busy/rugged look in comparison. They are wearing great on the Impreza. GTI chews the front ones pretty bad but they still look very good after 20k. Plus that car gets driven hard by both drivers.

Finally some good words on this tire. Everytime I have suggested it people say it's shit. "PZero's are terrible and have awful treadwear". There are more than one PZero, tards. They have never used the tire and the summer versions are nothing like the M+S but assume it's not good. /Rant:) That tire is one hell of a total package with very good looks.

I would advise to step up to performance tires.winter set up...... the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s...stickier than spiderman......or just stay with the 255s. While I think you can easily get away with all seasons for the winter in NY...Its the greater performance you get out of summer tires I am speaking of......my very humble opinion....but I went from PS2s on my Pcar and RS4 to the RE-11s, and it was night and day.........

+1 I would got with Summer performance tires and a dedicated set of Winter/Snow tires. The difference is night/day. Especially, when it really starts to snow. Winter/Snow tires gives you an added level of driver confidence and it's also a lot safer as the silica compounds are made for the lower temperatures. So even when it's cold, but not snowing, it'll be useful.

Originally my Audi S5 came with Dunlop Sport Maxx, and they where "ok", but always felt bumpy on bad roads, and noisy also.

Now I got 4 Vredesteijn Ultrac Vorti in the size the OP mentions, and the difference is huge:
    - much more stickyness, less bumpy
    - very good feedback, especially in corners
    - much less noise
    - sporty and comfortable in one tyre
    - very good when wet (no aquaplanning)

Also compared to the Continental Sport Contact (2,3 and 5) these Vorti's come out best in my opinion

See here for more info and more reviews can be found here.
