LED Tail lights - DEPO vs HELIX

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Tossing up between the two... I can get DEPO tails delivered to Australia for about $120 cheaper than the HELIX tails but I think the the HELIX design looks a bit better.. not sure.

Input appreciated! What would you go with? (I have a silver B6)

HELIX will need resistors added, whereas the DEPO tails have them built in already..

Mmmm tinted clear looks awesome. ^ The ones I can get for cheap to Aus are non-tinted tops, or an extra $50 for tinted tops.. will probs just tint them myself

How much of a PITA is it to install resistors for the Helix? I like that style better, but if it's a big deal to add resistors, I'd probably go with the Depos.

Helix floats my boat, they just look better made than Depo's.

While Helix may look better, the Depo is better made. I've had both. The Helix lights have issues where LED bulbs will stop working and need replacement. Poor circuit design for proper power regulation to the bulbs. I've gone through 2 sets of Helix tail lights.

The Depo tail light has had zero issues with the LEDs. I've had these on mine for almost two years. It's seen 100+ degree days as well as below zero winter weather (and road salt). These simply hold up better than the Helix lights ever did.

neither set unfortunately fits anywhere near as well as OEM. Both use shitty looking weather stripping (which is uneven along the edge) to make up for the fact that the fit isn't perfect. You can remove the weather stripping, but then you have an uneven gap. Someone needs to step up an make some OEM quality aftermarket LED tails

Couldn't agree more! Visually helix for sure. But Depos are built better. Put 'em through heat, snow (yes we get snow in So. Cal...big bear), rain. And the Depos haven't let me down. I love how the look at night!!! Good luck!
