As long as you are not hella flush, they will fit. Your speedo will be slightly off. Nothing really noticeable thought.

comparing to the stock 19inch size - 255/35R19

    Tire 1 - 245/45R18: 2.48% bigger
    Tire 2 - 235/50R18: 4.52% bigger

You should stay within 3% variance.
Is 245/45R18 the stock size tire for the 18s? I'm surprised it's so far off the size for the 19s.

it is only 2.1% over your stock size of 245/45-18, which turns out to be about an inch taller overall. you can compare tire sizes on 1010tires.com. they have a pretty good tire size calculator.

You are in canada. I would personally take the taller tire as the thread MAY be a little bit deeper offering you better traction. For the limited use of the snow tires, I would be fine with my speedo being off.

Remember, you will only be off 4mph for every 100mph..

Stock size is 245/40/18 which is the same as 255/35/19 as far as rolling diameter goes. Do not do a 50 sidewall. 235/40 is closer. 45 is for 17's...

    I run the 235s....and I love it.

Bigger sidewall to absorb the rough winter roads, narrow tire for better snow performance, and with the larger rolling diameter the speedometer is actually 100% accurate for me.

    But this is with 235/45R-18
