Is there a way to separate the headlight housing via the oven? I researched a little bit and i cant find anyone who has and i dont have to tools to pry it apart. the extra housing is to fix the E codes i bought from member who sold me the set with a broken headlight.......... the inner adjustment tabs are broken up top (2 of them) and my friend was about to cut the housing since he couldnt get them to separate but he got one tab and i need the other..... anyone know the best temp. to bake these?

IIRC the sealant used on the B6 headlights is different than other Audis so the sealant doesn't melt like it would on a set of C5 A6 or B5 A4 headlights. I think this is because the sealant melts at similar temperature as the housing, so in order to get the sealant to melt, you would basically melt the entire housing. Can someone verify? So I'm pretty sure the only way to seperate them would be to heat up the area locally with a heat gun and pry away.

    This should be some help:

    That's definitely true.

It's pretty much impossible to separate the lens from the backing of the headlight with an oven. I used a heat gun to joey mod my headlights, and even that was a complete pain. The glue is more of a cement that you have to pick out while manually trying to separate the two pieces. Just to give you a better idea of the crazy amount of time necessary to separate them, it took me literally from Friday morning until Monday night to crack one of them open (working on them all day long with breaks in between), and only 24 hours to crack open the second. The black plastic from the backing of the headlight melted wayyyy before the cement glue even budged.

It's a REALLY long drawn out process to joey mod your headlights for a B6, and mine weren't even sealed that great to begin with. Some headlights pop open no problem, others you have to fight with for days on end. If I wasn't doing something out of the ordinary with my joey mod, I would have much rather just buy a set of black e-codes.

    Just my $0.02!

EDIT: Ah sorry I didn't realize you WEREN'T joey modding your headlights. Since it's only one you're cracking open, you should be okay. Just be patient, and use a heat gun.
