So I'd like to pick everyones brain here. The install on my A4 works the large majority of the time, but sometimes with the PDC enabled, the front center two sensors will beep and act as if something is touching the front of the car. It will do this for a second or two and then go back to normal. There are no VCDS fault codes. I checked the resistance in the ground and common wires to the front center sensors all the way back to the module 10 in the trunk and I didn't notice and anomalies. Any ideas why the system will randomly think the front center sensors are close to something?

Strange question - I`m installing front sensors, what color should be two center sensors? All others are same as bodywork, but if grille is matt grey, sensor holders are matt grey... sensors matt grey aswell? Or black? Or without paint at all?
I`m interested what is OEM version.

PS. Searched forum but.. maybe my english isn`t so good.

Hello guys, I have a problem with my A4 2013 facelift and I hope someone can help me.
I have added in January the front pdc after changing the 09 . After adding the front sensors I could start to see the pdc graphic on MMI.
    I have 3g low navi.
Now I have installed an original backup camera. Everything works fine but once I put the reverse gear I cannot see the camera image but the pdc graphic.
I have done many test and see other long coding of 09 and 5f from other cars with backup camera but cannot understand where is the problem. I have to manually push everytime on console the rearview button to see images. I have tried to change the value on hidden menu of parking help from 1 to 5 and then return to 1 ( someone solved in this way ) but nothing.
If I uncheck the APS on hidden menu cardevicelist then it works fine as the images come out automatically with reverse gear but the small car showed at left with indication of sensors disappear.
The 6C long coding is correct.

Anyone knows where the problem is ? 5F or 09 setup ?

    Thanks !!

    Hi Peeet,

Decided to get a new wiring harness as I think they sent the wrong one. Just have one question in the kit there's the ground, the can hi and can low but there's a metal connector that i'm not sure what that is.

That cable is for power. It can be inserted into the back of the fuse block where there is ignition switched power, then a fuse goes in. You'll need to somehow find ignition switched power in one of the unoccupied fuse blocks. For my 2014, I needed to run power from the driver side to the passenger side (where I wired into the CAN block there as well), as there were no open ignition switch power on that side.

It's for the rear buzzer. There should be 2 of the same plug in the setup, one for the front harness (which has contacts for the button and a cable for front buzzer), and one for the rear buzzer which goes into the seat belt guide for the rear passenger side back seat.

    Hello
I m working on this project in an Audi A5 facelift 1.8tfsi. I have finished with the installation and the coding but during the diagnostic scan I have a fault code "open circuit" and eventually the PDC doesn't work. At the screen of the Audi concert I can choose graphics or not, but I don't actually see any, I can hear front and rear buzzer when I try through that screen to adjust them.

Also when I push the PDC button flushes and I hear a long beep from the rear buzzer. Do I have to code the concert radio through the address 56 in order to have graphics?
    Any suggestions?

This failure was happening for me when I was trying to wire the sensors through the central electronics module. For your facelift car, did you add the PDC controller in the trunk? Or wire the sensors to central electric? Wiring it to central electric means you need to find a specialty shop to upgrade the firmware on the control module. If you added the module in the trunk, what module part number did you use? Also, what is the exact fault readout? Is it open circuit on a particular sensor, all front sensors, all rear sensors, or every sensor?

What coding do you have for your PDC module?

When you have only the Concert Radio, and no MMI-3G navigation, you must coding the 56-Radio for PDC view

56-Radio, Coding Byte 9, Bit 1 active (for optical illustration)

    Peeet

And of course the 10-ParkAssist coding, you can find it, in this post -> http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post10917032

I did the coding for the 10 address as you described at your post Peet but at the end I have the fault "open circuit". Is it because I didn't code the radio ?

You must coding the 56-Radio if you want optical illustration from the PDC in the Concert radio display.
Afther coding, fault scan and remove the fault.

Not my wanting to hijack a thread here but:

Does anybody else find that the front indicates your about to hit something while your still about a foot away?

Is there any way of re calibrating it?

If there all the same as mine I don't think there is any point in fitting them at all!!

From all the No Signal/Communication - Intermittent errors, it looks like when you connect the module you are trashing the CAN network. Some questions:

    • What ports of the module are you connecting to the CAN network? - I connected the parking aid control module connect T16e pin 6 to CAN HIGH and T16e pin 15 to CAN LOW.
    • What method are you using to connect to the CAN network? The place I used for CAN HIGH and CAN LOW was in the CAN Disconnect block on the right side fuse panel on the side of the glove box. I used 6H and 6L of T46s. There are separate CAN buses in each of the plugs, so it's important you're putting the module on right one, although I doubt this is your issue because if you're having all those errors you're definitely finding a CAN bus of some sort!
    • Are you sure you're closing the connector correctly? The thing that completes the network is the housing of the right side CAN Disconnect plug (T46s).
    • Can you confirm that, when you have the car started / ignition on, you have power at T16e pin 1 (+) with respect to T16e pin 8 (-)?
    • Where did you purchase your harness? Can you confirm that the wires that are being used for CAN HIGH and CAN LOW between APS and wherever you are picking up the CAN NETWORK are twisted together? (to reduce interference)

I would concentrate on making sure you have voltage, and concentrate on plug T16e which has your CAN and power connections. Trace out each wire to confirm you have + power, a good return (-) to chassis, and that each of your CAN networks are going to the correct place. Once those 4 wires are connected you should at least have a functioning CAN network and, once you've enrolled the APS module into the Gateway via VCDS, you should be able to see what the status of the other connections are (open/shorted sensors, buzzers, buttons).

The kit is from Kufatec via ebay but the module is in the trunk and we run the can hi/low up to the canbus controller on the passenger side of the glovebox like you mentioned. we hooked it up to 19 hi/low. The first time with the harness provided it wasn't long enough to go to the front so I ordered a new harness thinking maybe they packed the wrong one in the kit. Same thing.

Did you have to extend it or just "stretch" the wire a bit? If they're twisted together, try 6, 7, or 8 hi/low instead of 19. 19 is on a different CAN network and might be missing things up. There's at least 3 CAN networks on the car - Powertrain (orange/black (blue?) hi wire), Comfort (orange/green hi wire), Infotainment (orange/violet hi wire). My understanding is that PDC belongs on the blue network and spot 19 is comfort / green.

You can take a look at the underside of the connect to see which parts are connected together. Factory B8 PDC is indirectly connected to T46s 2 hi/low, so anything on T46s between 1 and 8 should be equivalent.

Planning on doing the graphical portion of this w/o the front sensors. After going through the thread, can someone verify my list below?

    Parts Needed:

    - Front sensor Buzzer: 8E0 919 279
    - Connector for buzzer: 4B0 972 623
    - PDC Button: 8K2 959 674 G V10 (this one is for Park Assist & ESC)
    - 4 Repair Wires - 000979009E

Only thing I'm wondering about is:

    - Where does the front buzzer install?

    - How is the buzzer connected to the car via the 4 repair wires?

Thats possible on the facelift 8.5 A4/A5/Q5, without front pdc sensors
You need 4 Repair Wires - 000979009E, (the have 8 pins).

Buzzer is fake, don't work, is only need to get graphical Rear PDC
So you can put him below the BCM

You must have to connect the buzzer H22 and the PDC button E266 with the BCM J519
    J519 T32a T32b T16b .jpg

    Buzzer H22 with connector T2bd to T32a pin 6 and pin 7
    Face-lift buzzer PDC.jpg

    Button E266 with connector T8r to T32a pin 1 and pin 2 on a car with MMI3G
    Face-lift PDC switch .jpg
(or button E266 with connector T8r to T16b pin 7 and pin 8 on a only radio car)

Afther that coding front PDC, 09-Central Electronics Byte 35 bit 2 active

    Thanks Peeet!

By any chance do you have part numbers for connectors to put the pins in? I'm not all too good with wiring, just want to make sure I do this properly :)

You have already him, connector T2bd, from your list: - Connector for buzzer: 4B0 972 623

    - And the connector T8r to the button E266 (ESP and PDC) is already in your car :) (T8r is now in the ESP button)
    - And the conector T32a is already in the BCM

Oh wow, my mistake! Im a bit out of it today.

Thanks for the clarification! I ordered the parts, but noticed the repair wires seem to be short, is this something I will have to extend to reach the module underneath the steering column?

Audi OEM repair Wires 000979009E are 60cm long
The wires distance, from the T8r connector in the E266 PDC button, to the T32a connector in the BCM J519, is 130cm.
So you have to make 2 repair wires longer.

Peeet I have installed the wiring properly according to the diagrams.

When I put the car into reverse, the car makes a LONG beep sound and then no backup camera displays and "driver assist" menu is blacked out. I don't have the dash switch installed as I ordered it. Could that cause the issue?

This is the error I get with vagcom in Cent Elec:
