Covering up front license plate holes

Has anyone removed the front plate and used anything to cover the drill holes? I'd really like to get the ugly thing off the car but am not sure what I could use that would look good. Thanks!

I used a Dremel to clean up the mess created by the self tapping screws. Then Plastidipped the grill.

Do you have to remove the grill to plastidip it? Don't know much about the process.

I believe you can just mask the grille. As I understand it, the plastidip does not actually adhere like paint and it can be peeled of in the future. My question is what do you use to close up the holes before you plastidip the grille?

    here's what I did:

    1. bought 4 plastic hole plugs (rivets / fasteners / etc) with 1/8" (3.16mm) hole size from a local parts store
    2. bought a can of gray spray paint (or any color that matches your grille)
    3. on a hard-paper box (i.e. an empty kleenex box), made 4 holes using a nail
    4. pushed each hole plug half way into each hole (so that there's no contact between the head and the box)
    5. applied a coat of paint on the plug heads only
    6. let them dry (overnight)
    7. repeated step 5-6 twice
    8. cleaned the holes on the grille and flattened the edges of them
    9. pushed the plugs into the holes

    Here's the result:

^^ In my opinion those plugs are UGLY!

To answer your question, yes, the grille can be plasti-dipped without removing it from the car. There is a DIY on here somewhere of how to do it that way.

In general, after you dremel the plastic around the holes, the holes are very small. The plasti-dip basically fills in what's left

yup, they're not pretty for sho
wish my car came without the license plate holder....that would've been the best.

I've played a bit with plastidip, but didn't like the color as much as the factory grille color - unlike some ppl on AZ, I like how the factory grille looks.
and most people don't even notice the plugs unless I tell them.

I personally like the plugs over plastidip

So if I were to plastidip the grill, which products would I need to accomplish it? Do I need the whole pro car kit or would a few cans work?

Right on man, obviously when it comes to looks its "each to their own", I've just never been a fan of the OEM grille. If you like it, that's all that matters.

All you need is 1-2 cans of plasti-dip spray. There are several DIYs on here that will explain all you need to know. You can also hit the link in my signature below and read some thoughts I have on it as well as see pics of the process.

It's VERY easy to work with overall. PM me if you have any specific questions or concerns. Happy to help!

This was my solution. $10 for carbon fiber vinyl on Amazon.com. A little trick: use regular masking tap to create a template. Tape over the spot you want to apply vinyl. Then remove the tape and apply to the back of the vinyl. Cut with scissors and you have a perfect match. I also did a little dremel work to the holes and added some bondo from a tube.

I like it! But if you use matte or gloss black vinyl, it will look almost invisible and you will not see the center area. Just a matter of what you are looking to do.

I sanded down the holes until they were smooth then covered with vinyl from GrafiXpressions (http://grfxpstore.com/store/product/885037488). Can't tell there are any holes at all and looks OEM (except that I went with black vinyl instead of gray). It was super easy and took less than 20 minutes.

Ok, now I have this solved, how about rim rash. I had never curbed a rim in 40 years of driving, and if I haven't fucked up all 4 on this car. There is some jagged concrete on the streets in this town, I always feel good when I don't see a tire blister but my rims get hurt.
