OC audi repair shops

i took my A4 into commonwealth audi wednesday because i was getting bad misfiring again, of course another coil pack failed (not surprised), but not there giving me a laundry list of think that need to be done, i dont want the dealer to do them, since i know they will charge me an arm and a leg. anyone know of a good audi specialist around the newport area?

this is what there saying need to be done,

timing belt
coolant tank
2 motor mounts
new rear pads, and something to do with a caliper
plus a couple other things that i cant remember.

i went in 5000 miles ago for a carbon cleaning and all they said was one motor mount needed to be replaced, now all this. this car is starting to worry me. i have 115,xxx on her with no prior issues, every since they performed the recall on my coil packs this car has become very frustrating.

It's not in OC but worth the drive in my opinion. Raven Motorsports in Long Beach. I live in Anaheim and make the drive to LB when needed with out hesitation.

http://www.sundwrenched.com owner was one of the head techs at audi mission viejo. shoot me a pm and i will go there with you to get you a better deal. Or do most of the work yourself timing belt isn't to hard if you have the right tools same with the motor mounts. Brakes are just simple also you can take your caliper apart clean and re grease it if there is an issue. coolant tank can be replaced when the timing belt is done.

Oh hell no, I went there when I had my first oil change done. I asked the guy for Revo stage 2, and he insisted it needs an intake. After arguing back and forth that the only thing I need to add is a high flow cat, I asked if he carried 034, CTS, EuroCode (before I started working here), and he recommended a brand called Skorpion or something (does mostly truck stuff). After that I ran away and never went back. How you gonna sell Revo and not know what components are necessary!?

I wouldn't consider that a viable reason to avoid a shop. Stage 2 does highly recommend an intake, so it sounds like they were just doing their due diligence. And Scorpion is an extension of Forge, and is a well regarded exhaust company.

Haha i went to commonwealth and they gave me a similar list. Im going to do it myself if you wan to come over, we spend a weekend and do it. I have all the tools except im not sure if 2.0t need cam locks like my old 3.0. Other than that. The rest is easy according to the DIY.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the shop. They did my oil change and their service was great (can't say the same for Audi of Newport- which is why I went to Pacific German in the first place- since they changed my oil and used the wrong plug..... my entire driveway was covered in oil). Everyone there was friendly an nice (although my oil change did take a lot longer than what was quoted). I just think that whoever helped me at the time might not have been well versed on Audi stuff and knew more about Vdubs. What I didn't like was when I specifically said I researched that I needed a HFC, they said it was not necessary but than an intake was. Overall I would recommend them again, just maybe not for my performance needs. However, as far as service and maintenance goes, they did well enough for me to consider them again had I not been recently hired at EuroCode.

Rivalries are not my thing. Like I said, they did great for my service needs, just kind of scared me performance wise. By the same token, I can't judge the whole place based on my ONE experience with ONE employee. They completed my service just fine, which is more than Audi of Newport did (the SA there even gave me a long speech on how the #1 rated tech in the nation is working on my car... I swear I am not making this up, and next thing you know the dude did an OIL CHANGE wrong!!!). Also, I think they do more VW stuff, I saw some GTIs, a Touareg, and one of the guys there had a blue R20. I was the only Audi the whole time I stayed there (~4 hours).

I agree, I think I might have been a little harsh on Pacific. I forget sometimes that even though I may have personal experiences, once I joined a shop it automatically makes me a biased party, even if I don't represent my company's viewpoint. It doesn't matter because I am an extension of where I work, so I need to be careful of what I say. So in that regard, even though I didn't lie, I may have been more critical than I should have. At the end of the day, my service was completed properly and I was treated with respect, which is enough to warrant another visit had I needed more maintenance/service. So hopefully no harm was done. I know it is rare for people to accept responsibility when they say or do things without thinking, but hey, I will be the first to admit sometimes my humor is harsh and I need to work on it.

Must have been a long time ago, My techs Golf R is long gone, was replaced with a 2013 S4
Generally its 70 / 30 Audi to Volkswagen split, but it can go either way depending on the days.
I drive an 13' S5, wife has a 10' Q7, there are always 15-25 cars in, around, up the street etc. My center isn't the largest and only holds a handful.

Just got the ride back from AU tuning yesterday!!! Cannot say enough great things about Raz & Dave! They were completely on point w/service and quality of installation!! I had them take care of Full exhaust, coil overs, tune, and a bunch of little things that were just annoying! My cluster is finally error free (could be short lived, I know) ! lol.

Very good people that offer very good service at a more then fair price!

Apparently they take care of everything you can throw at them. I will be taking the wife's MkV (GTI) in to them for oil changes especially since I am out of warranty. Glad to finally be away from the dealerships for service. AUtuning!
