Vibration when clutch pedal is pushed in....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey everyone, Happy New Years for Idaho

My car has 111k miles and as the title states When I push in on the clutch, I get a mild vibration in the clutch pedal. If I coast with the clutch in and rev the motor the vibration increases. (obviously)

I have no slipping, The engagement of the clutch feels normal.

The weird thing is.... the vibration stopped a couple days ago, but I'm sure it will return soon.

Is it time for a new clutch?

Mine did this slightly on the stock flywheel, it was a more pronounced pulsing, but not harsh. The JHM setup has a almost unnoticeable "click/tap" on the petal when pressed in at idle. I figure it is normal to have something.

Yes, it seems like the dual mass flywheel is failing.

Could be release bearing failing, is there any noise or just vibration?

Vibration when clutch pedal is pushed in....

Possibly flywheel but let me ask you this...If you are driving and you just rest your foot over the clutch pedal is it vibrating? Very well could be the throw out bearing. Any squealing or abnormal noise?

if u hear a winding sound when pressing the clutch i would say thats the trow out bearing... if it was the flywheel i would think ull feel the vibration all the time, not just when pressing the clutch

I have a similar vibration in the pedal and chirping noise when I press the clutch all the way down. I'm guessing its the flow out bearing.

As I would release the clutch from being pressed in my A4, I would get the squeal. I would only notice it when it was below 50 degrees or so or if it had previously rained. But it was my throwout bearing then. Never a vibration, only a noise.

Did it end up being the flywheel? I'm getting a lot of vibration all the time on mine all the time, whether the clutch is pressed or the car is in neutral or in gear.

From what I recall, The dual mass flywheel had signs of separating. Throw out bearing looked ok... Surprisingly, The clutch looked like it had some life left. Maybe another 15k ??
