    Heated Seat DIY help!

Okay so i was trying to do a DIY on installing heated seats in my 2004 A4 USP. I currently have S4 Recaros in my car with full power and heat, my car unfortunately didnt come with heated seats so i went and bought a new climate control and the wiring harness from Kufatec and proceeded to install everything, with the intent of writing a DIY later.

I finished wiring the new harness and decided i should test it before reinstalling everything. So i put the passenger side carpet and seat back in and plugged everything in and nothing...

So i started testing to see if i have any voltage at the connecter on the driver side since that side is still apart. I find that i have voltage in the driver side, so i pull the seat back on the passenger side and find that i have voltage there as well. At this point I'm thinking WTF? could my seat heaters be crap? I start looking around and i see that the Power wire from the harness is connecting to a Brown wire on the seat connecter, which does seem right since Brown is usually Ground.

So i start pulling wiring diagrams and see that the "Heated Seat Temperature Sensor" is in pin #2 when it should be in pin #1 so I switch it to pin #1 on both the Driver and Passenger side connectors and try again... Nothing still

I decide to finish routing all the wires so everything is nice and clean and put back the driver side carpet and seat in hopes that maybe just the passenger side heater is crap. I get everything together and test the driver side and... Nothing... which leads me to where i am now.

Unfortunately i dont have a way of testing the S4 seats and I'm hoping that I've just missed something stupid and that I'm just to blinded with frustration to see it...

Anyway Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas.

I also have pictures of everything if needed

Check for continuity through the actual seat heater. Then maybe check resistance over the seat temp sender. I'm not sure if that would verify its working or not though.

Bring one of the seats over to my house tristan. We'll throw it in my car and see if it works. Then at least you'll know if it's the seat or the car. Give me a call, I'm home all night.

Did you change the fuses to 30 amps when you upgraded the seats?

Damn, I didn't want to hear you had issues. I have rear recaros as well that are heated, and like you my car come with only front heated seats. I wanna try these seats out to make sure the heating elements work before I get to crazy on installing them.

Granted you got them to work so can't wait to see whats up. Now I can bring my seats to you test them on your car and see if they work before I install lol. And you know while I am there if you have spare time talk about doing rods and rod bearings ha ha.

Looking to do the same kind of project as you did. How much in parts did you spend excluding the seats? Did you post the write up and/or any pics?
