Flights to Denver, what time is cheapest?

I am looking to fly my parents out round trip from Detroit.
Does anyone here travel a lot and know the cheapest time to fly (season wise)? I was looking at the end of January, but could definitely push it out. The cheapest I can find it is about $400 for both after taxes and all, however my buddy just came out and got a round trip for $125 after taxes. He said he just got lucky? That was Dec 7th.

check jetblue. i dont know if they fly to detroit or anywhere near detriot but they usually do deals every so often where you can get some really good deals. only problem is you need to book the flight within two days of them announcing the deal. flew to new york last january for $220 round trip.

I usually go to chicago round trip with 1-2 weeks in advance for $140-$180, which is a good deal, $400 for both seems normalish from detroit.
Normally they are about 300-350 round trip short notice or holidays

also clear your cache/history when browsing flights, they go up the more times you search.

also through southwest you can sometimes find super cheap deals

I flew to Miami and back for 150 round trip. That was on spirit, I would not recommend them.

i only fly southwest. to and from IAD/BWI from DEN, their flights are mega cheap compared to even airtran fares (weird, since southwest bought airtran lol)

i usually search kayak just to make sure, but southwest fares can only be found on southwest.com i'm pretty sure

Spirit being the airline that door dings other planes on the tarmac, and charges you to use the bathroom.
