    Code wont clear

So I am due for smog soon and have a cel. I scanned it and got this:

17834 - EVAP Purge Valve (N80): Open Circuit
    P1426 - 35-00 - -

So I got a new N80 valve, cleared the code and went for a drive. Cel came back on, scanned it again and got the same code . Is there anything else that can trigger this or is it in the wire harness?

    P1426-- EVAP leak?
    Best regards,

Open Circuit...? Make sure the N80 is plugged in.

If you have already replaced it, I would fear wiring. If you have an ohm meter, 22-30 ohm to check the new one.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

Most definitely plugged in. Well I guess I am off to pick up an ohm meter in the morning. Is there anyway easy way to find the broken wire in the harness?

If new n80 ohms good, lmk and I will look up the pinouts for you. Check the wiring near the connector and maybe even the ground on the head below-ish the n75 just for fun.

Forgot I already had these handy.

    Pin 1 grn/yel is +12v to fuse 34.
Pin 2 pur/wht goes to pin 64 of the ecu.

Thanks for that, I was having trouble finding a wiring diagram. I also want to add I tried a used working N80 valve with the same results.

That leaves "Check Wiring/Connectors from/to EVAP Purge Valve (N80)". If the fp relay were bad, you would have a shitload of other codes (and it wouldnt run).

I've seen that, already checking two of the solutions. Wouldn't the fuel pump relay cause other problems such as no start and other codes.

Since I'm most likely going to be taking apart the harness; what is the best way to wrap it back up?

why take the harness apart, check for connection from the valve plug to the ecu connection, if it shows open, then take the harness apart, or just run a wire direct to the ecu from the n80. also double check fuse 34 before you do anything.
