B6 A4 Avant Trunk Cabin light and Trunk lid light not working

Hi Audizine,

I am having problem with the Trunk light and the trunk lid light.

I checked Fuse 24 and 38, they seems to be okay. I even switched a few around.

Checked Light bulb

The cluster detected that the trunk is open and closed ( so not the microswitch? )

The red LED on On off button on the trunk light is working. ( the button lights up, but it won't turn the light on )

I remember that the trunk light goes bad before the trunk lid light. Within 1 week, Now they are both not working.

I find some water in the trunk light housing.

Could be switch itself, Ive seen them go bad on customers cars.

Check at the latch the microswitch has three wires going to it unhook it and check for damage/corrosion. If I remember correctly the wire are all ground to finish circuit so you ground each one to determine if it is the microswitch!

Remove the entire light assembly and check the terminals for corrosion.
