    3.0 Supercharger

Would an OEM supercharger from a 2012 S4 or similar work on the 3.0 in a B6 3.0?

Highly doubt it, not even the same block. Only thing they share is that its a V6 and its 3 liters. Besides that, I don't see anything being the same.

It probably wouldn't bolt on, but you never know, you might be able to mod it to fit. It's probably the right displacement to be an effective blower on the 3.0, unlike the PES blowers, IMHO.

I would like to get my hands on one and see if the bolt holes line up, then if they do see what some machinists say about making it work.

Or i might just get an extra intake manifold and buy a generic blower and have it machined on.

Money better spend on a 2.7L swap. Less R&D needed and yield just as good if not better power depending on build.

Yes yes, everyone keeps saying to turbo it. I refuse to go turbo, i just have a itch for a supercharger.

Have you seen the new Vortech based charger JHM just released, im wondering if they are r&ding something for the 3.0...

If you have the itch to supercharge..... then i'd say go to a different car/engine.

From my years on AZ and reading about the various engines... 3.0's are best left alone as daily drivers, and when they die, thats when people use the shells to do 4.2l or 2.7 swaps ;)

That being said, i also feel like aftermarket support is a lot smaller, and in a sense, might be slowly dying. But honestly, what do I know as i've never owned a 3.0 and never really investigated what is out there and what is in the works.

No, that supercharger will not fit in any way. They are entirely different engines all together not to mention the design is utilized for TFSI with different heads and manifolds.... just no.

not to mention there isn't a tune for it either so your car would ultimately run like shit even if you did get it matched up.

Don't count on JHM to put any more time than they already have in the 3.0 with new R&D. The tune they have along with down pipes is as far as they go I bet. Just not a great platform for big power.

Well i emailed them a month or so ago and they had some power adders in development for the 3.0 but mostly they were working on the downpipes. If i can't get a supercharger going i think ill just wait and go for the 4.2.

Actually while we are on the subject of motor swaps i was thinking about the 2.5TDI as a swap. What do you think of that?
