Is B5 Passat suspension direct swap for C5 Audi A6?

Hey all, please excuse my ignorance on the subject. I'm brand new to Audis but learning.
I tried searching Google posing the above question and it didn't return anything definitive that Passat B5 suspension is swappable with C5 Audi A6?
I have a 2002 Audi A6 3.0 FWD and it is time to replace the suspension. There is a guy local selling Passat coilovers at a great price and was wondering if anyone could confirm the coilovers will fit my Audi?

    Thanks!

My uinderstanding is YES they do work. I believe they are the same part numbers... Id get the numbers from the parts they are selling and then call audi and see if they are correct.

The KW coilovers for the C5 are also for the PAssat B5.5... says it right on the box.

Pretty sure B5 passat is only compatible with B5 A4,. but always ask for part numbers,. or look up suspensions set ups for both vehicles and compare part numbers there.

Edit: My bad, thought B5 passat and B5 A4 were the only identical chasis. advice still stand. Part Numbers

Thanks for the replies guys. It is for a set of coilovers by ECS Tuning. They sell an FK streetline set for Passat B5, V6 3.0L FWD (same drivetrain configuration as mine).
    Found here:
    http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...ers/ES1928131/

    Couple of things to note
    • The above coilovers will fit Passat B5 FWD only. They are not available for 4Motion.
    • Looking at the pictures, they *LOOK* like they would fit, but you know what they say when you assume, LOL
    • These coilovers do not appear on ECS tuning website when I search using my C5 Audi A6 (??). Very strange.
    • Other brands of coilovers on the internets show B5 Passat FWD is interchangeable with Audi C5 A6, but shelling out $500 on coilovers only to find they don't fit is a biblical fail.

So yeah, thats pretty much where I'm at. Maybe some others on the forum have already gone this route and can add their .02?

    Thanks! :D

For a little more money you can get some ST coils made by KW that are made specifically for your car.
