Thinking specifically of B8 S4s, any thoughts? I'm curious if people are concerned or think it doesn't matter.

This has been in the news for a long time. It won't happen, trust me.

I specifically drive out of my way to get non ethanol 93 octane fuel.

I have to deal with the issues ethanol causes all day at work and I'm not putting that crap in my cars.

What issues do you see at work pop up? Curious because the only 93 or 91 in my area is 10% Ethanol (Nebraska).

    To name a few....

Increase fuel system wear and tear (typically resulting in more frequent service of seals, lines and rubber components.
More complex calibration programs for various ethanol blends
    Decreased fuel economy
Increased emissions and more variable FTP emissions certification results
    Cold start performance challenges

The net is added cost to the product, and in the end the customer....

appreciate the info....good to have insight from every angle. Unfortunately I'm stuck on at least a 10% blend.

In Colorado, I'm stuck too... although there is this list:

Some in Colorado, none close enough to Boulder that make normal fill-ups worth the drive.

For direct-inject (FSI) cars, E15 will deplete the oil's TBN faster.

I wish I could get non-ethanol 93 around here. The couple of ethanol-free stations around here only carry 90 octane.

You could always add some octane booster with each fill-up.

Octane booster is kind of useless. Could do tolulene, but it would get expensive and be a big hassle. The place in town that has ethanol-free only does 89 octane fleet sales, and the next nearest place is 15 minutes away and has 90.

Agree, as long as you can at least get 91. The car will make its rated power on 91.

is this list totally inclusive? I'm shocked there are only 3 gas stations in my city.

Thankfully we can get 0% 91 Oct gas from Shell up here. Only 0% ethanol gas available in Canada afaik (in Toronto anyways)

I do go out of my way to fill up with Shell because of that.
