Yesterday, I've noticed a strange leak around the exhaust manifold to turbo gasket. It looked and smelled like oil. (I smelled the fumes as the manifold was getting hot)
In normal conditions, I know that there is no reason for oil to be there. But please look at the following and let me know you opinion.
- I do not use my car for almost tree months.
- I start the car every morning to take it out the workshop and put it back inside each night.
- For the last 3 weeks, the car had a missfire issue and a flashing cell ( I tought a coilpack was done)( the idle was a lot worst than juste un single coilpack issue)
- yesterday, I've replaced the 4 coilpacks for brand new ones and the problem was still there.
- I thought that maybe the spark plugs was carbonated by the repetitive cold statup wihtout ever getting at normal operating temperature.
- I've cleaned up the spark plugs, and the problem was solved, I was right.
Could it be a good theory that all the time I've started my engine with almost no sparks, a certain amount of oil has accumulate in the chamber without burning
due the the missing fire and that this oil then was thrown in the exhaust manifold, and finally leak by the original gasket that I assume is almost done?
The engine is running fine, no smoke from the exhaust, good idle now, pulls as it should, nothing I've noticed wrong.
