My Audi Tracker vehicle order Tracking System finally being launched by Audi!

We all know more and more people are ordering their Audis, in some cases waiting a few months for their cars to come in to the dealer.

As far as I know, Audi is the first to roll out a vehicle tracking system for the client to track their vehicle, as it makes its way through the production and delivery process. Instead of actually calling in to their sales rep and in some cases getting the runaround.

This is an informational video from BIMM, the provider, highlighting the feature. Soon enough, every client will have access to check in on THEIR car, as it winds its way through 10 Status, Production and Transit.

Very Exciting! This program is being launched in Canada exclusively, for the time being, as far as I know.

RS4 Avant or S3?? Both are rumoured though I have not heard 100% confirmation for either. Yet.

So has it been officially confirmed that the upcoming RS6 will have both an Avant AND sedan format? I thought the sedan was still up in the air but I'm not always up-to-date on everything.

Haven't heard about the RS6, but on that topic, RS7 is confirmed.

To be clear. To you mean the RS7 is confirmed for Canada or just that it's confirmed that they will be making one for the rest of the world?

That makes no sense. Bring the less practical vehicle over but not the more practical RS6 Avant? Not necessarily blaming Audi, mostly the market.

How many +100K wagons do you think Audi would sell? The RS4 I can see, but the RS6 is (or at least was) in another planet of price points. Someone that has rS6 money to throw around probably already has multiple cars anyway and doesn't need a "do everything" practical vehicle. They most likely have a six car garage with one for each occasion :)

Would you buy A NEW RS6 Avant if they were here?

If I had the money, absolutely. No question. I don't have the money for a 100k car at the moment though :(

Me, you and probably Ian....but not too many others :). When you get into that price category the number of people with that much "want" for an uber wagon diminishes pretty quickly.

Yup, and that was my point. I have a beef with the market :) If there's no demand, there's no need for supply.

^ not sure about A7 but according to my SA (that I spoke to the other day) the A4 Allroad isn't doing very well. He mentioned that Audi priced it out of the market compared to the Q5.

Yeah, $45,100 for the Allroad and $39,900 for the Q5. Same engine. What were they thinking...Were they looking for an excuse to completely kill off any Avants for the NA market?

$69,200 for the A7 and $89,300 for the S7 (not that I've seen one on the road yet).

Am I the only one here that finds the rear end of the A/S7 hideous?

The Allroad has no chance in the coming months when the Q5 can be equipped with the 3.0T (detuned version) or even the Hybrid.

There's 15K between a Prem. S-Tronic S5 and the RS5....the A7 Prem. (better comparison) to S7 gap looks "reasonable" based on that. S5 to RS5 = ~24%, A7 to S7 = ~20% ....with that reasoning the RS4 Avant "should" start at about 75K Canadian. (24% over Premium S4 S-tronic).

i also find the 7 butt ugly, so i rather get the S6 if i had the money, but gf loves the 7. I seen one S6 so far and my cousin saw one S7

Yeah I was talking to Audi Canada about it this week.

My car was listed as sailing on a ship named "Cargo Ship" last week. According to the tracker it's been sitting off the coast of Nova Scotia for a week. In reality it sat in Emden for a week and was then loaded on to a ship that sailed on Thursday. It never updated the tracker with the correct ship name and the webcam of Emden harbour is actually the port of Bremerhaven.

FWIW. My car took almost two months to the day. Ordered in October, arrived in December. It was worth the wait to get exactly what I wanted. I just wish the Audi tracker was available at the time.

it just got launched here in Alberta a month or so ago. Don't know how accurate it is, as it's been on "part assembly" for over 3 weeks. Ordered in November. Gathering some other info to correlate with myauditracker, but the concept looks cool.

UPDATE: just spoke with my SA, and told me factory inspection happened today, so she is ready to be shipped! So the myauditracker site looks like it is a predetermined setup at different phases, not real time. I bet I get an email next week saying 'being built' and it will take me through the different parts of assembly but it really will be on a boat and on it's way to me. I'm guessing I will have the car before it shows up on the tracker site.

The tracker is still quite buggy....to say the least.

My wife's Q5 went through the factory in a day (press/paint/production). Then according to the tool it was on a ship and made it across the ocean in 6 days (no surprise), but sat just off the coast of Halifax for three weeks. Then it showed that it was back in Germany on Saturday (June 8th) and today it's skipped the "arrived in Canada" step altogether and is now at the "Journey to dealership" step. After speaking with the dealer and inquiring the old fashioned way it actually arrived in Halifax on the 5th.

If anyone could get this right I figured it would be the Germans. At this point I'm hoping it arrived in the correct colour and options we chose :)

The tracker is utterly useless. My ETA has been changing every day for the past 5 days to the..next day and I know from VW logistics that my Q7 hasn't even left the port of Emden. Either that, or it's sitting at Halifax harbor since the....23 of December 2013. I really hat bugging my sales guy, he's too busy making a living and doesn't want to hear from me. I'm thinking that if they can't get this right, I'm starting to wonder about this purchase in general. Seriously, this isn't rocket science and there should be some oversight, the optics of this thing not working doesn't bode well with a luxury brand... Is it just me or do others think the same?

It is a very poor system, makes the process look very amateurish. It's not what you should be portraying as a luxury brand, they'd be better off not running it given how inaccurate it is. For a recent purchase we tracked the process on there and a naval gps site, you could see the differences in where they were showing the boat. We knew exactly when the boat unloaded but for days it sat out in the ocean on the Audi tracker. Then the car sat in Halifax where they do final prep, but it just remained there on the site. The car was delivered to Toronto and in our driveway before the status on the tracker site ever changed.

They really need to fix it or take it down, in this day and age it shouldn't be so inaccurate.
