How to get into locked trunk - Battery is unplugged

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was doing some work on my car (A4 - 2011) and had to disconnect the battery. I closed the trunk and now am unable to open it as there is no power to anything. I can't get in through the backseat because they dont fold down (at least dont know of a way). Anyone got any solutions or been in a situation like this?

    Thanks,

Your seat should fold. There is a lever on the top back of the seat between the headrest and c-pillar. Just fold the seat and crawl into the trunk and then pull the manual release lever on the trunk.

Just re-connect your battery, open the trunk then disconnect it?
    Best regards,

look on the inside of your driver's door should be a switch to open the trunk. Keep in mind if you disconnecy your battery your remote will not work so you will need to resync it.

Ohh shit, didn't realize that. Are there any jumping posts in the engine bay? just hook some cables up to them if there are.
    Best regards,
    Sean.

Okay, just looked at my sales brochure and the split rear seat was a option on the A4. There may be a lever in the center of the rear seats to possibly fold the seat down as a complete piece. Wow, guess I was lucky w/ our A4 because it has the split fold seats and didn't realize it was a option.

Next thing you can do if the door switch doesn't work is to pop your hood and connect a charger/jumper cables to the posts under the hood. The positive post is in the center of firewall under a cover and the negative post would be on you left shock tower. Just connect a charger/jumper cables there and see if it will give you enough power to pop the trunk

Got it figured out. Had to lift the rear seats off and underneath is a emergency pully that pops the trunk. Thanks for the help everyone, it was much appreciated.

Glad you got it figured out. I was thinking about suggesting that but I figured that way would be a bit more difficult and most people would be afraid to do it that way if they haven't done something like that before.

You can also pop the hood since thats not electronic, jump the car via the jump start points in the engine bay and then pop the trunk once the car is on.
