Wiper blades - Bosch Icons or Rain X?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So driving in a blizzard today here in CT at the beginning of November my wipers are so beat it's not even funny.

I am trying to find the correct wipers for our cars if anyone can provide a link, and what do you recommend? After some research it seems Icons and Rain-x to be the most popular.

    Thanks.

I've had great luck with the Bosch ICON's but you really shouldn't be able to go wrong with either one.

Bosch icons work amazing. Can get them on ECS, but probably find cheaper elsewhere. They also look a lot better than the factory ones. Don't have photo on car though

If you're willing to switch out the arms... I went with the Aero Wiper Kit. Pretty sure they are available through a few places. ECS, etc. I've been extremely happy.

^ Aero kit better be good for like $150.. Just spend $40 on Icons, they work legit and use the savings for maintenance (:

yea switch to the aero wiper arms off the Jetta, i picked up like 8 sets last year cheap from a local wrecking yard and had them all in the classifieds. much better blade on them, i had icons before and they never applied the correct pressure. With the stock wiper arms i would just get regular rain x ones.

I haven't had good luck with the icons. Went through 3 sets, and as previously said, wouldn't apply correct pressure on the windshield. I'll be looking into other options.

Re adjust the arms. They probably are not applying pressure correctly.

Whatever you use, the 303 wiper treatments are great - clean up and condition the rubber blade:

I would go 20" on the passenger side. They say 21" but mine hits the weather stripping.

I believe the OEM specs are 21" driver, 20" passenger, but I could be incorrect.

I've had good luck with Rain-X (beam style blade) at Walmart. About $17 and last for a year (or longer).

I've always used Rain-X ever since I started having my own car. They make great products. I've always had great luck with them. Also, the wipe treatments work very well with the wipers also.

The aero conversion can be had for cheaper, just order the parts from 1stVW instead. I'm sure the PNs are floating around here somewhere.

I used the Passat B5.5 wiper arms and Rain-X Repels. Works amazing. I will say +1 for the aero wiper arm conversion. The stock arms seem to "lift" on the highway and these do not.
