2013 front and rear facelift on 2009-2012 US A4's?

Guys, looking at my 2009 and the new 2013 front and rear.

Can we just bolt on the new 2013 front bumper cover, grille and head lamp assemblies onto a 2009-2012? I was also looking at the updated rear trunk and trunk connected tail lights. Can we just take a 2013 rear trunk and bolt it to our 2009-2012?

Would need new front fenders and hood as well. Only time it would probably be worth doing if is you got in an accident and had to replace all those parts anyway, otherwise it would literally be thousands of dollars.

I was thinking about this recently. I agree that it would require the front wings, hood, and bumper. I was thinking that if one were in an front end accident and wanted to make lemonade out of the situation, it should be a direct bolt on. I certainly don't want to crash my car but I could have a 2013 front end on my Avant and be super special.

Alex at Europrice assured me that the rear is easy to do! I already have the Euro/ROW 2013 LED tail lights and waiting on a 2013 S4 trunk (more aggressive integrated spoiler). Alex said all the parts such as inner trunk lining, weather trim, etc are the same part numbers as the 2009-2012. I'll make sure to post a thread when I get my rear conversion done.

I still haven't heard any conformation about the fenders actually needing to be swamped.

For most of us it would cost too much but it would be interesting to find out what it would take for this to be done. If radiator support have same holes drilled for the new 2013 lights and if all is just bolt on, if new wiring harness is needed, if new engine under cover is needed etc.. From what it looks like it would need new big parts like:
    *Headlights
    *Fenders
    *Full bumper (fogs, brackets etc..)
    *Hood
    *Coding to take new headlights

True, if someone gets in front fender bender it would make sense to get with new 2013 front end but if only it's doable...

Part numbers are different for the B8.5...

    Fenders B8
    8k0 941 191 & 192

    Fenders B8.5
    8k0 821 105j & 106j

    Hood B8
    8k0 823 029 D

    Hood B8.5
    8k0 823 029 H

I didn't check the mounting HW, but could be some differences there as well. I almost pulled the trigger on B8.5 rear conversion ... Decent price on the bumper and diffuser, but could not get confirmation on compatibility of the rest of the mounting hardware, maybe it would have all worked out but I decided against spending the time to play around with it.

You guys are forgetting about the fog light assemblies which have changed. You may also have to modify the bulb harness considering 2013 uses a different sized bulb.

This doesn't make sense to me personally. The couple of thousand you would drop on this could get you a much newer car with a much better interior and most likely more efficient engine.

I got the 2013 non-S line A4, but now I really wish I got the S line front end. I asked my dealer and they said something around $1500 for a S line front bumper swap. Could I do better than that at an independent shop? or would there be quality and sourcing issues?

yeah the rear is a direct swap, but the front looks to me like it would need at least at the hood as well. try to get into a complete front end accident :P haha

yes you can always do better than the dealer price-wise lol. you can always get the bumpers from one of the vendors on here, probably Alex@EuroPrice and then just get it installed at a local shop

I would only contemplate this if my original front end had been damaged to the point of having to replace the panels involved. Agreed that just doing it for the sake of doing it would not make sense.

It still looks like to me that the lines on a 2009-2012 A4 hood and front fenders are the same as the 2013? Am I the only one seeing this?

well to me it looks the same up until it gets to the part right above the grille, the grille shape and the bumper part that comes up to the hood is shaped different so im gonna say theres a slight difference in those curves/corners there.

Yes - hood is definitely different where it meets the bumper/grille...

You may need other parts, but these are the bumpers themselves.

at that point you're better off doing an rs4 conversion. (imo)

No and I'm not sure what to do. We're moving into a new house and the new 2013 tails are in a box somewhere! Not sure if I just might sell them - this could turn into a big head ache that I don't need right now.
