What kind of wax, clay bar and soap do you use? How often?

Hey guys. I just got my new used s4 b7. What kind of wax, clay bar and soap do you recommend?

How often do you guys wash your cars?

I use Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine Detailing Clay, followed by a Maguire's liquid wax. However, I've not been satisfied with the wax on the RS4. Something is different about this paint. I need to find a better wax, so I'll be interested to hear any input here. The clay, though, is great.

Sonus is some good stuff. I've also used pinnacle and Menzerna with success. Blackfire Wet Diamond Selaer is the absolute SHIT. I love it. Usually throw that on by hand after polishing is up to par, let it cure for 24, then throw on a good coat of synth wax. Finish lasts forever even in NE winters.

I use Riccardo Clay with Maguire's detailing spray and Wolfgang's Deep Gloss Sealant. I'll also put a coat of wax on top of the sealant once it's cured for 24 hours, usually Maguire's Ultimate.

I stick with the blackfire wet diamond for my car, and usually follow it up with another coat after curing, and maintain it with optimum spray wax weekly. For washing I use optimum no-rinse as my car never gets that dirty being that it's always garaged. For clay, used to use generic detailer's domain clay, but have now switched to using the nanoskin auto scrub which is similar to polishing with a pad, but works like a clay bar. I also have a side detailing business so none of these products are available in-store, FYI.

I still recommend visiting a detailing website to pick up high quality products for cleaning up your car. Towels are one of the biggest ways to properly detail your car without marring or scratching your paint. Try the waffle weave microfiber varieties.

Meg's NXT and applied with Meg's Dual Action every few months. I try to apply quik detailer every car wash.

Meguiars clay bar, Meguiars Ultimate Polish, Meguiars Ultimate Wax. I've been pleased with the gloss and longevity of this wax. Only downside is that the polish can be hard to remove if left too long on the surface. The wax buffs off better - just make sure you do let it dry.

i use chemical guys citrus wash and gloss on the bodywork ..... smells gorgeous and has natural ph levels
bilberry wheel cleaner on wheels as again its non acidic
generally use mezerna and 3m products for polishing
dodo juice lime prime
poorboys black hole for a nice wet look finish
collinite 915 or chemical guys black pearl bottom coat wax
followed by angelwax chocolate car wax top coat ....... you can smell the car 30 yds away

I now make and use my own wax a mixture of Carnauba, montan and bees wax. I will never use any other wax again.

It is special in other ways in that I do not add silicon but there is a beading additive and something that you add to fruit.

I also use collinite 845...it's super simple to apply and remove and is incredibly durable. Cheap too!

Einzsett Glanz is my favorite. Havent used the Lusso product of the Collinite. But I have heard good things about Collinite longetivity. I like Einzett because it can be layered. I have done 4 coats cured on each other before. I use a spray nano sealant in between.

As far as a sealant, My personal car has Zaino Z2 on it. My detailer does it 2-3 times a year, and as with anything else, prep and following the directions is key. Strip off the old stuff, clay the car, correct as needed, and lay down the new stuff, wiping in Z6 gloss enhancer in between coats. Super durable and looks great, but it is a process to get great results that I don't have the time to do myself. For my wash, I use Zaino Z7, both out of my foam gun as a pre-wash and in the bucket.

I've also had good results with Einszett Glanz and use it whenever I need to touch up in between major details.

For clay, I have an Adam's claybar for spots but I use the Nanoskin Autoscrub with Glide lubricant now if I need to do entire panels. So much faster.

I have a car and i like to have it in a very good condition. I always use the products of a specific to maintain my car's color good and shiny. If you want to get these products then you can take help of the autoprosmobile company , one of the best in car detailing.

Guess I'm the fourth here for Collinite 845 sealant (its not a wax). This stuff goes on like butter and comes off just as easy. No marring, no pain, no white dust - very durable as well. Two coats usually last me about 4 months.

Clay - Ricardos, Chemical Guys or Meguiars. Clay lube - Chem Guys Synthetic Detailer.
Wax - Pete's 53, or if I'm feeling special / going to a meet - Swissvax Onyx.
Sealant - Collinite 845. Never fails to protect. Chem Guys Jetseal is my backup if I am running low on Collinite.
Detailer - Chemical Guys V07. Just got this and love it - easy spray on, wipe off, insane beading for weeks. Great last step to the sealant and wax to ensure durability and gloss.

Polishes - Megs M105, Chem Guys V36 and V38, Chem Guys Blacklight (havent used this yet, but will this weekend - reports are awesome on dark colors).

Big fan of Zaino here. It was all that I used on my Corvette, I picked it up new in Aug 2000 and until I sold it this month it was the only thing I used on it. Every couple of years I used their clay bar on it. There were no swirl marks or anything on the finish, it looked as good at 12 years as it did new.

My 2 cents...

For the vast majority of customers cars - I use nanoskin autoscrub now. I usually follow up in tight to reach areas with Swissvax paint rubber, but 95% of the car is done with autoscrub.

Just this past week I started claying a customers car that had never been detailed in it's 60,000 miles. I clayed the front passenger fender to see how long it would take and it took me 15 minutes to get all of the contaminates off. The clay bar was completely full of contamination.

In contrast, the opposite fender took about 60 seconds with autoscrub at speed 3.
