Would prefer from those running either of these to provide some input. I SEARCHED and found a few people who seem to back the Ferodo's. Is anyone running the Porterfields?

Input on Noise levels is probably most important, then stopping power, then dust - vs OEM would be greatly appreciated.

I am extremely happy with the Ferodo DS2500. I do not get noise, the ititial bite is fantastic, no signs of fade. They do dust. I switched over from a Carbotech Bobcat and was pleased. Just put on my second set of Ferodo last week. Very easy to bed them and they are nice and as quiet as the last set. cheers! Mike

I've read a lot of good things about the Ferodo pads - the DS2500 to be specific. I can't seem to find them for B5 S4 calipers though. It seems like nobody carries rotors and pads for S4 owners.

Porterfield pads look over priced. $360 for front pads for the B5 S4? Geez. I am intrigued though because Porterfield is in Costa Mesa, 1 city over from me. I could definitely stop by their location and check them out. Their website isn't really all that.

For all intensive purposes though, I think a lot of people are happy with the Ferodo and street variation of the Pagid pads.

I may just do the Hawk HP Plus or the Carbotech Bobcats.

Mike, where did you buy your Ferodos from? Thanks!

    Incredibly helpful customer service.

BTW, Ferodo is the authorized supplier to AP Racing.

    cheers! Mike

If you want Porterfield pads talk to Eric@SPP. I know that he can get a pretty good price on those, he was running them on his AP Racing BBK and had nothing but great things to say about them.

    Hi,

Not a lot of experience with the Porterfields. But I have extensively used the Ferodos. My old shop used to import them and we used to sell the "Premier" line along with the DS pads. The DS series pads are really excellent. I really like them and currently use the DS2500 pad in my street car.

    I think Parts 4 VW's sells them.

...if you can only clean the brake dust off your wheels from these pads (or maybe perhaps just wash your car more often).
