What wheel and tyre dimensions fit the Q5? (20-22")

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello there.

    I have a 2010 Q5 3.2 Quattro.

I have the standard 19" wheels, and I now want to change to something bigger.
What sizes should I look for, when it comes to 20-22" rims?

    The 20" S-line rims are 8.5x20 with 255/45 tyres.
What about 9x20"? Would that also be okay?

And then, what sizes would fit the Q5, of 21" and 22" rims?
Would 10x21" and 10x22" fit? If yes, what tyres?

I need an expert here :)

    22's on a Q5...

Wow, can't wait to see this one...haha

In all seriousness, some others can chime in on expanding past OEM sizes. An aftermarket expert, I am not, but you should make sure to keep the overall diameter the same. Not sure about bulking width out.

you may want to check this out. You can compare OE size tire to another size, and it will advise you of clearance issues (if any)

It's been done, but there's not much room for tires!

    I'm running 20x9.5 no problems :)
WOW. That's the kind of aggressive look that they should have for an RSQ5. Beautiful.

We can juuust get away with running stock size rotors on 20" rims on our cars. Running 22" rims, you almost gave to go BBK or it just looks silly, IMO.
That said, I'm not a fan of the 22's. Just a huge ratio on this car. 20's look great, and 21's could look cool too, but the ride would be more harsh for sure. I almost went 21s, but lack of tire options were a factor there too. If I lived in Miami or San Diego maybe.

Whatever you choose, bring on the pics! Good luck!!!

If you run 22" rims, do you even need tires? Or just paint the lip black?

I have to agree that 22's look a tad too big. then thin rubber just looks out of place on a big car like this.

IMHO, 20" looks better, but 21" is visually speaking the perfect size for the Q5. Of course, that is a very rare size so wheel options are limited unless you get a custom set. I am planning on running 10x21" on my Q5 next summer.

I like what you did with your A4... definitely interested to see your upcoming Q5 ;)

    Thanks!

The Q will also be phantom black and pretty much follow the same style as the A - black, wide 'n low ;)
