A bee went in my gas tank!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So guys, I know this is really strange but as I was trying to fill up my car today at the pump, a bee went into the fuel hole on the top. I waited for a few minutes for it to find its way back out but eventually I had to get going, and so was forced to fuel. So now I probably have a dead bee floating in my fuel tank. This is for my brand new car BTW (2013 S4). Should I put in STP or something to clean up the tank or will it decompose over time and just go away. Am I worrying too much over nothing?

don't worry about it. Thats what the fuel filter and pump filter are for. It will most likely decompose over time. BTW... how the F does a bee just fly into the gas hole?

This is very dangerous. You should trade it in immediately and buy a bee-mer.

I am not sure about the S4 but on most cars the intake for the fuel is actually like a sponge so idk that it will fit through that, and it defiantly won't fit through the filter. So no it won't cause any damage and it will probably break down over time.

I don't think a bee would get through the filter either, even a defiant one

    The S4 is a BEEST .

Just be careful next time you go to fill up that it doesnt fly back out and sting you in the face. Ive seen crazier things happen when it comes to bees. they are pretty damn resilient

My concern would be if the bee made it past the filter and into the fuel injection system. Then you'd have a bee in (under) your bonnet.

I feel bad for that bee. Game over for him / her. Pretty sure the gas would break down / dissolve that bee pretty quickly so no need to worry.

This thread was definitely worth it though. Would read again.
