Replacing Allroad grill which looks better?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
The front grill on my allroad is really starting to look out of place and may be next to be replaced. Any opinions on what would look better? RS4 facelift grill or a blacked out facelift S4 grill.

The s4 grill I think is a direct fit and cheaper. But the rs4 grill is the rs4 grill. Don't know how to start a poll but all opinions will be appreciated. Thanks.

either will look awesome IMO, you'd really have an RS4-esque look with the car with the RS4 one, due to the fender flares and such, so maybe that - for that reason alone. Bit I'd normally say S4

I'm really torn. The RS4 one looks better but I think if I put it on it may not look as cohesive as the S4 grill. No type of honeycomb on the car and the horizontal lines on the s4 grill somewhat match my fog light grills

My vote is for the S4 grille. Think it would go better with your car.

I don't like how they took out the vertical bar theme from the S4 facelift grilles, so my choice is RS4. be prepared to pay $$$.

Definitely RS4...just wait to see if you can find a less expensive than OEM version.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with the standard allroad grill (beyond the font plate holder). It makes it stand out from all the other A4s. I'm not really a fan of how they made the "non-open" center part larger and even more pronounced on the '13 grilles, so at least the RS4 (and allroad) grilles don't accentuate that like the A4 and S4 grilles do.

+ 1 on the photoshop and while whoever is at it try painting the flares and all the the black stuff on there for shits and gigs.

I think the RS4 with white flares would look very ripe but I would wait to see it shooed first.

i dont think the Allroad grille is that bad, if thats too much silver/chrome for you try to paint it gloss black maybe you'll like it better? as for out of those 2, if you're going to change it i'd say go with the RS4, the s4 one is a bit more of a subtle change so not sure how much you'd like that, also might look kinda weird with the Allroad? but i think the RS4 one will look nice, just get the gloss black one if anything.

If it was my car, I would look into the same thing that NoR32 is suggesting. I might even try to make some custom mesh fogs to go with your RS4 look...

WIth the big 'ol wheels and stance you have going, with the flares painted or wrapped, the RS4 grille would match up with the aggressive look you've go going. Otherwise, the S4 grille would be match up better.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does not like the Allroad egg slicer grille.

If you're going to run a front plate on the grille, RS4...if not...S4. Reason being the RS4/5 grilles look so plain and huge when there isn't a plate there to take up space.

I personally like your stock grill (minus that plate mount).

The S4 center piece looks like vinyl siding to me, dislike.

So A4 B8.5 owners are aware I am working with an S4 B8.5 owner to check about RS4 B8.5 grille fitment. It does have a lower additional portion that the A4 and S4 grilles do not have. I suspect it will require trimming for installation onto the A4, S4 B8.5. Should have answers in about 2-3 weeks, hopefully.

When that happens there was quite a bit of interest in a group purchase.

Oh and by the way, loving the Allroad, the stance, the wheels. A little paint on those primed sections, money!

    Cheers,

I'm wondering if the Allroad will fit S4/RS4 or even A4 grills....the bumper looks different in shape. You can also see how the AR grill needs to bend around the front support.

Cory- From what I can tell the grille is the same size. The hood is the same, the headlights are the same, visually front on they are an identical shape.

Sure I can get the S4 grille, standard and in the black optic:

S4 Post-Facelift Front Hood Grille (Chrome or Black, Plate Delete) - $695.50 each (Retail - $780.00)

Now maybe if we wait a bit for the RS4 grille test I could do a group purchase that includes the S4 and RS4. Even if anyone is looking to upgrade from the A4 to an S-Line unit which is gloss black. Can definitely do some nicer discounting out of Europe with a bulk shipment.

    Cheers,

I get more compliments about the front end of my allroad and those comments are either about the grill or the DRL's. I'd stick with the grill you have... but that's just me.

Another vote for the RS4 grill...

A black grill would look wrong against all the grey plastic trim! (Unless you were going to CC it)
