    A5 calipers Vs S5 calipers

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey I’m looking into upgrading my brakes for my Audi a5 2010 2.0t 6mt basically stock everything with 19” Y wheels. Are s5 brake calipers a big improvement over my a5 calipers? I would only be swapping the fronts. Will I need new rotors as well? Will I clear them with my stock wheels? And will I need to swap brake lines as well? Thanks guys
I couldn’t find any a5 vs s5 brake threads haha
This wouldn’t void my warranty either would it?

Adams rotors. Check my build thread. A vs S calipers...minimal. Get some nice rotors and pads and call it a day.

    A5 calipers Vs S5 calipers

Swapping S5 brakes onto an A5 requires a new hub (and/or carrier) in addition to calipers, pads and rotors. If you're going to do all that, mind as well change the lines as well.

I believe the difference is 20mm in diameter. IMO, not worth it. I would just go BBK or RS5.

Lmao are you serious? Remind me why i bought a 40,000 car that shares parts with a corolla but is 1/10th as reliable?

Both A5 and S5 calipers are floating, single piston piece of shit designs made from boat anchor grade iron. Swapping one for the other is retarded. The only worthy caliper upgrade for either car is a solid, multi-piston, aluminum caliper, with floating rotors.

corolla had the fastest stopping distance in it's class this year... I beg to differ, robot.

Please differ away, I'd like to know how changing one floating caliper for another floating caliper could possibly improve braking.

Basically, the design of these single piston, floating calipers... is a crime against humanity. I mean I drive a peasant A5, but I'd be embarrassed to drive an S5 with those calipers... imnsho.

    QFT

However, If I had an S5, I would be rolling around with....

....but in all seriousness, if you're looking to upgrade your brakes, I would consider a BBK. Otherwise you're wasting your money.

    WTF
Look at ETKA, they are the same.

Carriers determine the disc diameter, this is the only major difference.
