    M9 1.25 bolt

Well the closest thread for the hole in my block, to get the 1.8t oil pump mounted, is a M9 1.25. So I put a M9 1.25 helicoil into the block and went looking for a bolt. Well it is nearly impossible to find an M9 1.25 bolt. Talk about shoulda, coulda, woulda looked to see if they were available before putting it into the block.

Anybody know a good source for a M9 bolt?

Try your local fastenal, I had to have them make a M15X1.25 for me... Was about 50$ for one, and got cheaper the more I were to order

Just head to a machine shop. I have made quite a few bolts for myself. If they have the equipment to roll the threads instead of cut them, you're good. Otherwise, I am not sure the spec you get from just cutting on different materials. I even has a little program written for the mini CNC mills at school... I miss that free machine shop! ha ha

This is a great find. I will order up 3 bolts, then sell the helicoil kit and left over bolts as a kit to put on the 1.8t oil pump in 06F blocks! :)

Rock on bro! I still got the flywheel bolts and flywheel torque plate in the car. I need to drop them off at the post office today. I am trying to finish ting the bathroom, but this fucking bathroom remodel project won't fuking finish. It is looking really good, but I squatted down under the new counter last night to paint, and blew the bursa sack in my old knee, and now trying to tile the floor is an uphill battle. Here is how it is looking so far.

Ok, just to give some insight into the odd choice of an M9 bolt. Putting the 1.8t pump assembly requires drilling out the pump body and the windage tray support. So it is advantageous to remove as little material as possible, meaning using the smallest diameter bolt as possible. The hole in the block is already at 23/64", which is perfect for a M9 helicoil. Actually you don't even have to drill it out as this is the exact drill size for a m9 helicoil. Now you all know why the choice for this odd size, because it is the optimum choice and should be the first choice with over boring as the second choice only if you have to.
