Allroad cladding colors

Are there two different colors for the 2013 Allroad plastic cladding, or is it just the appearance of the photos? It appears that the darker colors have a lighter gray cladding, and the lighter colors come with a darker black cladding.

I think they're all the same color. On my Monsoon Gray Allroad, the cladding visually fades into the paint. On lighter colors it stands out more.

I would def get the Allroad with body color cladding. I think in red it could look badass

it's the same color, just the contrast looks different on dark vs light colors, and also depends on the lighting of the pic, sometimes black ends up looking like dark gray in direct light / flash

Lighter colors like ibis, glacier white, ice silver,monsoon grey get the black matt cladding, darker colors like black, teak brown get platinum grey cladding.

I know very little about Audis (just ordered an Allroad yesterday, my first Audi I've ever even looked at), I know a fair bit about optical illusions, and I know quite a lot about photography and relative exposure, contrast, etc. Based on what I know and don't know, I gotta still believe that these are two different colors:

i believe there are two different sets... audi did this with the Q7 as well. lite paint received dark lower trim, dark cars got lite lower trim.

yea now that you put the pics side by side it actually is different, never noticed it like that but never really payed attention to the Allroad anyway. but yeah looks like the lighter colors get that dark almost black gray, and the other one is that platinum/stone gray like on the stock A4 grilles.

right there with ya but direct from audi u can only get ibis white, phantom black, and ice silver with the body matching fenders..

however aftermarket...anything is possible

Anything is possible through Audi exclusive, you just got to pay.

they are different. I checked it out before leaving the dealer who had several parked next to each other.
You can also look at the relationship to the black of the tires, which is a constant shade of black, unlike paint colors.

This looks much better to me than with the black cladding. Unfortunately, you can only get body colored cladding with Glacier White, Phantom Black, and Ice Silver.

If it were me, I would get the body colored cladding, eagerly await a replica or reasonably priced OEM facelift RS4 or S4 grille to replace the unattractive stock grille, H&R OEM Sport Springs, and nicer looking wheels. Retrofitting the flush roof rails would probably be pricey but nice. Then it would almost be a B8.5 Avant.

Or, get Monsoon Gray and it matches without the extra $1k! That's what I did.

You can make a full body colored Allroad look like a RS4 with the proper wheels, suspension, and grill.

anyone have an all white lowered? seems the consensus is everyone likes cladding painted. I'm digging the white/black... i think but want to see where the uni color fans are coming from.

theres pics of a white one a few posts up, not lowered though but you can get the idea. i think the regular black cladding looks ok but it just gives it that 'SUV/crossover' look, which isnt really a bad thing and i guess thats sort of what the function of the Allroad is, but the body colored just makes it look more sleek and aggressive, like a beefy avant.

The dealer here just got the black and the white with matching cladding and they look very nice, they were running very low on cars in general and got like 20 cars the other day.
