New 2013 Phantom Black RS5 -PICS

As a bunch of you guys already know, I finally picked up my RS5 from the dealer this past Tuesday. Here are some pictures of the car (since we never get tired of pictures, right?)

Few rules for this thread, since I'm the OP...

Delivery-Waited since January 23 for this moment:











First Drive-Bliss:





First wash & detail- Asked the dealer to not wash the car so I can do it myself (and avoid swirls):

Still a detailing amateur with all of these Adam's products (Thanks again Mops for the recommendation). Had to bust out the instructional PDF on the comp to make sure I followed the steps)


Notice the reflection on the hood (dull, dirty car)


After a washdown with the foam gun & rinse:

Two things. I normally turn that dealer tag over or just remove it, so I'm nor a rolling billboard for your nice dealer there.

And two, we really need to talk about that cute little flower chandelier you have hanging up in your new man cave there, above that manly beast!

I did check for clouds, but there hasn't been a cloud in the sky all day today. I'll get some soon though, definitely agree with you on the reflection

I don't mind the dealer tag, they took good care of me and handled every request I made. Least I could do for them IMO

The flower chandelier would be my mom's, haha. I don't have access to free reign of the hose & garage to detail for 5 hours at my place.... so I visit home and wash the car there

Tint is coming on Tuesday... after that I doubt any mods will happen

Any thoughts on getting a paint protection film on? Xpel ultimate in particular is damn good stuff...we all know how easy swirl marks show up on a black car. 4 months into mine and washing every weekend, still zero swirls.

It's my folk's home. though, we did build it from the ground up . we go with the mediterranean + spanish look in all custom homes if we build

I'm still considering it... haven't decided 100%. Definitely set on the xpel ultimate though, solely based on how great it looks on your car and the shine you're still able to achieve

Nope, it's my folks home. I live in Santa Monica, but have no place to wash & detail the car at my place

George, what brand of tint are you going for? Ive got 40% Llumar on the windows, and 20% on the sunroof.

I was going to go with Llumar CTX 50% but the tint place said he stopped carrying it due to customer complaints of a greenish.. He recommended 3M ceramic so that is probably what I'll go with. Might go with 50% up top too since there is tint already on it, I like to be able to pull back the screen and get some light in

If you want, you're welcome to wash your car in my Hangar at Santa Monica Airport. I don't have a hose near my garage at my house either.
I know Adam's says you can wash in the sun with his stuff, but I still prefer to wash in the shade. With the hangar, we can do that.
