Those with 18" Pirelli Cinturato P7s, how many miles did you get before replacing??

I have the stock 18s and the Cinturato P7s. They have been good tires as far as handling goes. No complaints. But treadwear sucks!! I just found out that my tires need to be replaced. It seems one tire has a small nail and loses air pressure after about a week. So I am constantly filling it up with air. But somehow it wore unevenly even with air constantly being refilled. But to make matters worse, all three other tires have 1-2mm of tread left before hitting the treadwear indicators. But since you can't replace just one tire and the others are so low on tread, I now have to replace all 4 tires at 13,350 miles. I find this totally unacceptable.

This really upsets me. It is my understanding from talking to the sales and service people and fellow enthusiasts that I should have expected 18-20,000 miles before hitting the wear indicators. I wasn't expecting to replace them until Jan or Feb '13 and now I'm in a position where I don't really have a choice.

What have you guys experienced as far as mileage on these tires?? I am being realistic and not expecting Audi or Pirelli to replace tires that have been used for 60+% of their expected life. But I do hope for some type of financial assistance/discount since the car is totally stock, never tracked/no drag strip/nothing outside of ordinary daily driving. And I am also aware that the other 3 tires have 1-2mm of treadwear left but the service advisor said I should replace them anyway. Even if all 4 made it to 15k miles, I still feel this isn't acceptable for such expensive tires.

Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You can try Audi/Pirelli about it but these tires don't have a tread/mileage warranty so i don't know how far you can get. But it never hurts to ask both company. But if you can't get anywhere with them and have to buy another set of tires, don't get the P7's (I'm sure you know that). That's why I sold them off for $650 with only 50 some miles on them and picked up the Conti ExtremeContact DWS for only $750. I have about 8.5k and i just measured the tread depth yesterday and I have about 8/32 all around. So 2/32 for 8.5k, should last me about another 25.5k miles for a total of 34k.

Just replaced mine at 25k. Could have gone a little longer, but the tread was separating on one tire and they were too worn to replace a subset.

I didn't like the P7s. It gets cold enough here often enough that things could get a bit slidey. Have Conti DWS now.

Audi does not warranty the tires if they came on the car -- Pirelli does.

I had the same tires/size on my A4 sport pkg. Mine were gone after 15k. Almost all in-town driving though - so I didn't have lots of straight ahead low-wear miles on them, but I was also surprised at how quickly they wore.
Replaced with continental DW and projecting the mileage vs. wear ... they would have lasted about 22-25k.

Pirelli doesn't have a treadwear warranty component on OE tires (which is what I believe the OP is referring to) - only Manufacturing defects.

Thanks for all the replies. I will be talking to the dealer this morning to see if they are willing to do anything for me. If not then I will be calling Pirelli directly.

I doubt the dealer will do anything, but it's worth a shot.
