Bluetooth Microphone Location

I tried searching and didn't see an answer for this. I used the bluetooth / hands free connection for my phone in the car for the first time yesterday and the person on the other end was having a hard time hearing me. Where is the microphone located? Is there anyway to adjust the sensitivity?

You might want to check the phone itself. Sometimes I have to manually switch it to the audi bluetooth option on my iPhone screen.

Microphone is in the ceiling, by the map lights in the front seat. It is pointed more toward the driver through the little slits at the back of the plastic housing up there that has the lights and sunroof controls.

Yeah the mic is near where the front top lights are, by the sunroof controls, etc. Might be something with your phone or just bad reception? I've used the option before and it's been very clear and worked great for me, even when I was trying to cover up the mic area it picked it up pretty good.

Okay, I'll check that out. It is just a standard Android phone (Droid Incredible 2). I going to blame it on the iPhone on the other end . Or it possible could have been the area I was in as it was kind of hilly and slightly remote. Maybe just a bad coverage area.

I've always had problems where people on the other end had trouble hearing me (specially when driving on the highway) since the microphone picks up way too much road noise.

When possible, I've just used a wired headset and it seems to work better for people on the other end.

I use mine almost daily. I always put the windows up and have never had someone complain about sound quality or not being able to hear me. Not sure if the 2011 has a different microphone or what.

thanks for the feedback. I was on a 4 lane road doing about 55 MPH with all the windows up. I'll test again with someone else.

if it's on: aircon might fudge it up. try without.

I have never had someone complain about not being able to hear me when using bluetooth - and I use it all the time.

Interesting thought, but this is Texas, so that might work about 2 months of the year
