    Best Kind/Style Hose Clamps

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What are the best hose clamps out there for the money?

I had the regular hose clamps on my K04 build, but they would break if you over tighten them, rust, even get twisted. I cant count how many I went through and how many I ended up throwing away because the quality of them wasn't there

I want something nice for my STK build.

    Thanks

Have you ever tried T Bolt Clamps? If not give them a shot, they work very well on high boost application builds.

what sizes are you looking for? Are you looking for something to use on your intercooler piping couplers or for all the smaller vacuum hoses?

Be careful with overtorquing the T-bolt clamps. I tightened a T-bolt clamp on top of the bead of my bipipes and pretty much pressed a hole in my Samco TBB from being too tight. They work well though, just sort of tough to fit the T-bolt width up there on the TBB in particular.

T-bolt clamps can be a pain if you're in a pinch for space, but are the best option for use with high boost situations if you can make them work.

The only other style of clamp I use are ear clamps which are 1 time use and really work best in areas you never plan on touching again. I think Fastenal is the best source for stuff like this because you more than likely have one nearby.

I'm sorry, but I fully disagree. I have 16 t-bolt clamps on my car and not one has damaged my aluminum piping. Maybe we should go with 100% of the time that people torque the shit out of them without thinking about what they're doing.

^^The turboseal clamps are a good alternative, though.

We use T-bolt clamps all over our helicopters, on all sorts of aluminum tubing. They are amazing, and never blow off. And we're talking turbine engines that make 1800 shaft HP, and the other one that makes up to 5000 shaft HP...

What are those aluminum clamps that are about an inch wide and they have the holes in them. How do they hold up.

It happens. I paid a shop to do a starter for me and when they cranked down the tbolt clamp on one side of the ER intercooler without being careful and it crushed the inlet. I was able to fix it when i discovered it. Not their fault, things just doesn't fit well and you have to be careful.

Wiggins clamps. Also, vibrant performance Vanjen clamps are similar and cheaper than the wiggins.

i use only worm clamps(turboseal mostly) on cars at work.. and these are high boosted 1000 + hp cars we are talking about. we find that there is more of a margin for error with tbolts. like i said.. most of the time things get damaged with t bolts... you can be careful but with varying quality materials on some aftermarket parts its better off just to use worms in the first place.

I have a few T-Bolts, but I was given a full set of clamps from SAMCO when I was their sponsored car @ WF two years ago and I love them... High quality stainless steel clamps that are safe on silicon hoses.. Love them.

We have heavy duty screw clamps (smooth inside so they don't tear up couplers) and T-bolt clamps available below.
