    Unhappy location of intake camshaft sensor

    i have a 2008 audi a4 2.0t and my check engine light is on. It says that my intake camshaft is messed up, so i was wondering where it is located at so i can replace it. thanks for any advice.

    dont know which side but there is one (if you are standing in front of the car, I think) right front corner below the valve cover and the other back left corner off the valve cover. Not attached to the valve cover just in that general vicinity.

    i wish it's sort of hard to explain without pictures. But the one on the right front corner sort of enters the engine in almost the same position as a injector. look for the harness going into it, might have to lossen the top of the timing belt cover if i remember correctly and i think 1 T-20 screw holding it in.

    The other near the rear left corner after the valve cover is sitting up right and you can see the harness running into it almost like the hpfp harness. It has 2 small screws holding in and have to remove a bracket (triple square type screw) to get one of the screws all the way out to remove it.

    What code do you have? there is a position sensor and an adjustment valve. Your dtc would be helpful in us helping you with the correct part

    That code refers to the cam adjuster (N205).

    Oh hai!

    I would run through a few diagnostic procedures listed HERE before I dropped $150 on that N205 though.
