Need Help! O2 Sensor Wiring Colors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've looked everywhere and can't find any info.

Short story is: PO hacked up the wiring for the o2 sensor. Bypassed the entire pigtail connector and now I need help fixing it.

I need to know what wires go where. It's the (pictured below) black female 4 prong connector, but I have 5 wires?!???!
The colors coming from the car are as follow:
    1. black
    2. green
    3. solid yellow
    4. yellow with green stripe
    5. green with yellow stripe

This is a pic from my car with the wire spliced

Can someone pull back the top piece and check what colors run to the 4 prongs. I'm extremely lost.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

okay, green/yellow is pin 1, and yellow/green is pin 2, these both go to white on the oxygen sensor (heaters)

solid yellow goes is pin 3, this goes to grey on the sensor

green is pin 4, this goes to black on the sensor

as for black i really dont know, im giving you this info by looking at the wiring diagram in bentley. it shows black as wrapped around green and yellow, but not electrically connected. it says its just a shielding wire?

Similar to above question. I have a 2001 B5S4. I need to know the colors on the harness side, as the plug and wires were burned on the harness side. I have a repair plug I am trying to install. The colors in my harness do not match the above.

This O2 sensor is on the driver's side which may be the difference.

Here are the colors I have, and yes I am positive it is the stock, unrepaired harness.

    Yellow with green/blue stripe
Green with yellow stripe - what kind of monster puts these colors in the same harness together?
    Black
    Brown
    White

Obviously 2 of these wires get tied together, at least I assume.

    Please help.

Your colors don’t match exactly any of the combos for the o2 sensors.

Check out the diagram below. The closest in color match is B2 S2
    Green/Yellow
    yellow/white
    White
    Brown
Black (this is the shield wire)

Thanks. It does still appear that the above diagram is not a direct match either. My O2 sensor wires are White White Gray Black, which does not match above.

If you have a 2001 B5S4 perhaps you can pull the plug up and see the colors directly.

Need Help! O2 Sensor Wiring Colors

I’ll take a look at mine in the am and post here.

You said your 02 wires are white, white, grey, and black. That does match the diagram I posted. If you look at the wiring diagram, you can see the wires FROM the o2 sensors change to a different color at the connector FROM the engine harness. All 4 of the o2 sensors wiring from the sensor itself is white, white, grey, and black.

    Thank you.

The wires on the O2 sensor itself are clearly white-white-gray-black, in that order.

The colors in the harness are:

    Yellow with green/blue stripe
    Green with yellow stripe -
    Black
    Brown
    White

The black wire in your picture does not attach to anything. It is a shield wire. By design it floats in the harness and helps reduce interference.

The remaining wires attach to the o2 connector in the order I show in the picture of the diagram I included below.

I know the colors don’t match the picture I took of the connector below it, but I am 90% certain of this order. The colors for the other 3 o2 sensors aren’t even close to matching the colors of the wires you posted

If you need that o2 pigtail, send me a PM with your mailing address and I will mail you one.

I just confirmed on the factory wire diagram those are the correct order. (The factory diagram has the exact same colors as you show in your picture)
