Won't fit 2.7 body, not a wide body. I think.

To use the RS6 stuff on your car you will need in addition to the RS6 parts...

    Rear widebody 1/4 panels
    Front fenders
    Front hood
Front bumper mounts and mount extensions..

The wide bodies have wider rear fenders meaning new rear panels.

It's sadly not worth it. You'd be better off to purchase a Widebody a6 I just posted a cheap one local to us in the chatterbox section.

Yea just want the bottom of an rs6 like side skirts, mesh back bumper and front bumper .... Not hood, fenders, and bumper ...too bad they don't just make an add on kit for the narrow body c5s maybe they do? Never really looked into it

There's not enough of a market for the after-market body kit companies to develop kits for the C5. If you want the RS6 look for a narrow body you're pretty much stuff with getting the OEM body panels and doing a some significant body work involving cutting, welding and repainting the rear quarters to graft in widebody fenders. Honestly it's not worth it, just sell your narrowbody and buy a widebody if you want that look... it'll be easier and cheaper in the long run.

If it was me I would just get a cheap car with a good engine and transmission but with body damage or just a good price. Then spend the money saved on the body kit.

Just in case the OP still wants to know exactly how much work it is, this old thread may be helpful: CONVERSION 2.7t A6 to RS6. That guy did the body conversion from 2004 S-Line to RS6, the Coles Notes is that it's a s**tload of work ;)

This is why you need to weld in widebody rear quarter panels:

Notice how much wider the RS6 front bumper is:

The V8 C5's are 1.3" longer in the hood and fenders:

They're also wider so you will need to replace your existing headlights with headlights from a 4.2, S6 or RS6. Other items that you can get away with leaving off, but will need to replace if you want a complete swap are all 4 fender liners and the belly pan making your parts list:

    4.2L/S6/RS6 rear quarter panels/fenders
    4.2L/S6/RS6 front fenders
    4.2L/S6/RS6 hood
    RS6 bumper supports
RS6 front bumper with grill inserts
RS6 rear bumper with grill inserts
    RS6 grill for hood
    4.2L/S6/RS6 headlights
    4.2L/S6/RS6 fender liners
    4.2L/S6/RS6 belly pan
    RS6 exhaust tips
