Forge 008 not making the cool noise.

    Hey guys.
So I bought my B6 and it came with a APR st1 tune and the stock DV.
I decided my first upgrades would be
    -Forge 008 DV
    -Electronic Boost Gauge
Picked both up from ECS and installed them.

With the stock DV when I let off the throttle I would get that cool flutter noise. I really liked it.

I installed the 008 and put the yellow spring in as I read the following.

    Valve Spring color coding
    Green - 5-15 PSI
    Yellow - 15-23 PSI
    Blue - 23-30 PSI
    Red - 30 + PSI

I figured my 18PSI fell into the yellow category.

The valve does make a little noise but not nearly as much as the stock one did.
Boost and vacuum seem fine from the gauge. from 22 In-Hg to 18 PSI. (Around 15PSI on these 30'C+ days)

Should I switch to the green spring? Will this bring my noise back?

    Thanks for the input.

A place between here and there

Switching to the green spring will cause a surge in your power band. If anything, the green spring with 2 shims may be close to the efficiency of the yellow spring. They are rated as such so that the piston in the dv does not lift from the pressure in the charge system. If you are running 18psi, the green spring will lift once it is past it's threshold and cause a surge in the power band.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch

Well the boost actually hits the side of the DV piston. Its the vacuum that pulls the spring up and opens the valve.
Only if you install the DV swapped around would the boost actually press against the bottom of the piston.
I have heard of some people doing this and Forge seems to have no issue with people doing this, but that's a different topic.
