    Ground locations?

Since i've gotten my motor back in i'm still working out little bugs..Problem i have now is my voltage is jumping, and i'm not sure if it's the alternator or just a loose ground. I'm leaning more towards a loose ground since i pulled the motor. Headlights are flickering etc, tho the battery is right at 12.5 volts every time i got to start the car so the battery is not draining. Now i'm just trying to figure out which one might be loose. Ground under the coolant tank is tight. I honestly can't remember what other grounds i would've disconnected? Any other ones i should check?

I only have the two mentioned. The main harness ground and I think 2 or 3 other wires go behind the coolant tank. 1 large ground goes to the post under the frame rail. Thats for a 2001.5, though. I dont have a ground on the passenger side from what I recall.

I don't have the one on the frame rail as i have a 2000. Ground under the coolant tank is all tightened up..Other than that i'm not sure where else to look? I really don't want to get a new alternator and have the same problem. Has anyone else had all kinds of shit fail after they pulled their motor lol? For fuck sake..First my power steering, then my clutch switch, now possibly my alternator. This thing certainly keeps you on your toes ..

"Gutentight!" . It is not load bearing so anything will do so long it doesn't undo itself. From the looks of it, 10lb/ft will be more than enough but I bet I put about 25-30 down when I tighten mine down... MEasure voltage drops with car running after you tighten all the electrical connections.

Oh, and I am sure you know but... You're supposed to tighten it with counter acting two wrenches (base of post is keyed to 13mmm I think), not just by tightening the nut against body of car.... you don't want to rip the post out of frame!

I believe there's another wire coming out of the harness that connected to the intake manifold/EGTs as well.

Can anyone identify what this ground is for it's currently disconnected on my car and if you touch it while the vehicle is running it shocks the sh** out of you if I put it near anything it sounds like a razer do I have a short I've never encountered this with a ground. Should it go to engine or faux firewall. Thanks

That sounds like a short. some troubleshooting with a meter is likely needed if you don't see evidence of damage/burnt ect ...
