Vibration at 70mph specfically after tire replacement.

    Hey guys,

I recently switched my front tires to brand new ones. I got them balanced and everything. This was about two days ago. Today I finally went on the highway at about 70mph exactly the steering wheel vibrated like a MOFO and it feels like its coming from the driver side. I know I have bad control arms but I have been told that wouldn't cause bad vibration at a specific speed. Do you guys think the tire was improperly balanced? Or I have a bad tire? Please let me know through your experience thanks!

The weight might have fallen of or its simply a bad balanced tire. Make sure you check your tie rods...

Even tire pressure? If so I'd check the balancing again

Yeah first thing tomorrow i'm going back there. Hopefully it's just the balancing. If I have one bad tire I'm gonna be one angry mofo.

Poor balancing, uneven tire pressure, bad tire, and loose lugs are all the big easy ones that jump out.

Sorry to thread jack OP, but would a bad wheel bearing cause some slight vibrations at like 65? My tires are all evenly pressurized and lugs are tight. I had low tire pressure in 1 tire and fixed it but the vibrations are still there.

OP if my post bothers you let me know and I will delete it

It's cool. If it was a bad wheel bearing though it would be loud AF and making a whirring sound as you speed up. For me that's not happening.

This. I bet a weight fell off. That's what happens if they do not clean the barrel or use the wrong type of solution to clean the barrel before adding the weights.

I have brand new tie rods and just got my wheels balanced. I get vibration from 44-62 mph. Why? Is it the spacers?

So just to update this. I took it to 3 shops to get re balanced. Each shop saw the wheel hop on the balancer. The last shop i took it to had the new Hunter Road Force Balancer. After an hour I was diagnosed with a bent rim. But not visible at all until the wheel is spinning on the balancer it was waving and hopping a tiny bit. It was recommended that rotating the tire about 80* degrees would help. Got that done and re balanced. I went on the hwy and still same shit. Awful vibration at 115kmh. Took the car home was sad. Left it there the whole day. I drove it today on the hwy about 30 minutes ago. Hit 115kmh there was no vibrations. ATM I am mind fucked cause I almost traded my LMs for Work Meisters plus cash on my end. I don't know what the delio is but I just drove it for 30 minutes at 115km/h and it was fine. So yeah I know this won't help but I thought I would update.

Try force load balance. I was having the same problem. Sometimes the regular balancing is not enough

As said before, the wheel balance may have fallen off.

Happened to me and the damn thing almost went through the plastic fender linger. All I had to do was show it to the show and they begged me to rebalance the wheel for me.

very strange Check your upper control arms and lowers make sure the bushings are not torn.Sometime when bushes are shot the clearance between the knuckle and the shock absorber are very tight sometimes even rub together could be your problem.Normally if the wheel is bent you can try rotating it as far away from the driver as possible to get rid of the vibration so you would have to put it on the r/r of the car.Best of luck!!

Did you get the print out from the Road Force Machine when the diagnosed the bent rim? What's the radial and laterial runout? The Hunter machine works great if the tech knows how to use it, I'd ask for the print out and verify.

What shop did you take it to?

Well I know I have bad control arms if I go over the slightest dip it will squeak like a mofo. Luckily they're getting done today :)
